Hullo all! Rosie, I see you're having story doubts, or were earlier... just remember this is for fun, not profit, and we'll all be just as bad.
I named a character today! Yay me! Now three main characters have names!
This sniper stuff is scary. I have family in that area, two sets of grandparents and some cousins... well, most of the cousins are gun-grabbing wacko liberals who don't like us, but the grandparents are mostly nice and I wouldn't want them to be in this situation...

I was thinking more along the lines of the anise sponge cookies that they sell in the supermarket.Ah...OK. I don't think it would look like bread, though.
I'm still going with Springerle! If made with no real pattern on it, it would resemble hard tack (cram), but taste soooo much better! And travel really well...some recipes actually recommend that you "age" it for several weeks before Christmas, and it keeps well for a month at the least.

Rosie, I see you're having story doubts, or were earlier... just remember this is for fun, not profit, and we'll all be just as bad. I know, I know...but I'm still going to have trouble showing it, I think, as it's bound to be a)completely implausible, and / or b)full of syrupy or overly dramatic / tragic stuff. I always end up killing off half my people, for one. ;-)
Congrats on finding another name! I picked names for my four main characters, but I'm not completely satisfied, so I imagine I'll be doing changes up until the last moment.

By the way... Elves do not eat fruitcake.

No, it's NOTHING like fruitcake!
To: JenB
Elves do not eat fruitcake.Yes, I was forgetting...too much fiber in fruitcake. :)

Actually, it's a name for what should have been the hardest character to name - the one who needs to have a different name for every world. I managed to find a name that I can break down into other names.
Anyone who has a secret sadistic streak and would really like to name their kid "Amyara Lei Darling" should write fantasy instead, don't you think?

No, it's those yucky fruit bits. Elves eat fresh food. Dwarves, on the other hand... well, fruitcake would keep pretty well underground

LOL! Or "Hank"?

No, it's those yucky fruit bits. Elves eat fresh food.Elves travel only when the fruit is in season, I take it.

No, they engineer their plants to bloom at odd times, like the mallorn tree.

No, they engineer their plants to bloom at odd times, like the mallorn tree. So that's it! They're only constipated when they're away from home in the off season!

They're only constipated when they're away from home in the off season! Elrond was at home, though. What's his excuse?
To: RosieCotton
His fruit trees died? Is that unusual for an elf? I didn't see very many orchards around Rivendell.

We began discussing
Lembas here.
And here, OT, is where I was telling you about the digestive biscuits...back in April. Don't you remember???
;-)
To: 2Jedismom
Ok, now I remember. But "crumbly" isn't the same as "crisp".
To: Overtaxed
I think it is crisp, but can be battered into crumbs. These digestive biscuits are crisp, but can be broken into crumbs, like a cookie.
