I've got a bunch of "what happens in general". Now I have to get concrete actions to go with the generals.Yep, that too! Though I have a big hole in the middle...that's my biggest problem.
That and the fact that this is going to be verrrrry hokey and lame. ;-)

Well, it is former boss now... but he didn't fire me.
That was one of my first jobs!
Hullo ksen.... Good Morning!

Over to the left on the sideboard. Next to the orange juice. :)

Mmm...I'll have some biscuits with plenty o' butter and honey, some bacon and an egg.
Now I'm going to have to make biscuits at home some time soon!

LOL! Reminds of of my teenage years when we would take rides in shopping carts with a 6 pack in our laps. :)
Oh, I meant I knew some people who did that. I would never behave so immaturely. ;)

Sigh...they sure enjoyed those pints didn't they? But we all know they went through a lot of ugly before they really got to enjoy them again...
Don't mean to be such a downer. But we just have a lot going on in the Stormhands household in addition to the sniper stuff. Jr. is dealing with the broken finger, my father-in-law's doctor told him yesterday "two weeks or two years...but this is the end," and just general life pressures...
We'll be fine. It's just not pretty right now.

Speaking of biscuits.....I think Tokien got the lembas description all wrong. If it's a thin cake it would be either still "cakey" or "chewy". The only way it would be crisp is if it was baked well past the golden brown stage.

shooting in Montgomery CountyOh no! This is the first I've heard of it, having not turned on the TV yet nor checked with "Breaking News"! I told my husband when those aliens turned out to not be the sniper that I thought the sniper would strike soon... I hope that makes sense...have not had my first cup of cofree yet...

Reminds of of my teenage years when we would take rides in shopping carts with a 6 pack in our laps. I grew up in a small county. But all the kids knew that you could buy beer at Bob's no matter how old you were...
Not that I ever did that...

I think Tokien got the lembas description all wrong. Heretic!
To: Overtaxed
Lembas is described as a thin cake, but when Gimli takes a bite, Tolkien writes that he "bit off a crisp corner".
Crunchy on the outside, cakey on the inside is my guess.

Ping.........
Any thread with only 35K+ posts needs a ping!!!
Stay safe; stay armed.

Heretic! Okay. Let's see you try to bake a thin, crispy cake without burning it!

I told my husband when those aliens turned out to not be the sniper that I thought the sniper would strike soon... They haven't confirmed it yet, but it fits the "pattern" (which keeps changing). But I think they anticipated that "he" was in the Richmond area still...

I see it more as a cookie than a cake, actually.
To: RMDupree
Crunchy on the outside, cakey on the inside is my guess. Then it's cake layered between something crunchier. My phyllo dough scenario holds up!

Let's see you try to bake a thin, crispy cake without burning it! I didn't say I could do it. I'm just appalled that you would say Tolkien was...gulp...wrong...
To: Corin Stormhands
I hope things get prettier very soon Corin...
It is not adversity so much as uncertainty that drives us crazy, and uncertainty is everywhere around!
To: Overtaxed
The only way it would be crisp is if it was baked well past the golden brown stage.Unless they aren't really like cakes, but more like something else.
I discussed this with my younger siblings and THEY say lembas is kinda like those wafer cookies but without the icing layers, and thicker than that. Like oversized, thick, slightly sweetened communion wafers. I don't know - I just get more confused everytime I try to really imagine it!
