What would my comments be? About the characters? - Naw... I wouldn't comment... I don't know them yet, so I accept them at face value. The freedom fighter is um.... quite a gal! ;~D
To: JenB
Good grief.... harumph!.... gnashing of teeth!
To: JenB
Yeah - It shows up for now.... Webshots links don't last long but they work for a little while! it will fail after some number of hits...
To: HairOfTheDog
Yes. Actually that's one of my more interesting characters. She... well, she shows up a lot, but as different people. In one universe she's the freedom fighter I drew, in another she's more of a political player, in another she's royalty, sometimes she's just a random person. She's the only character who shifts like that. It will, I hope, make more sense in the story. But I like her as a freedom fighter and as one other person best. Not sure if I'll put the other person in, since that role has a lot of overlap with the freedom fighter.

For a little bit, anyway, here is the character in question. I haven't got a real name for her yet.

he's in the middle of the Civil War With our schedules over the last few years (including the arrival of a new little one) we haven't done as much as I want to. But come spring we plan to start doing weekend outings to the Civil War (and Revolutionary War) sites around here to supplement the history lessons. My boys need to know they're Virginians and the history that goes with that. We live just a few miles from where our first Huguenot ancestors settled in the late 1600s. I need to keep that connection open.
Coming back from the reunion on Sunday we plan to stop at the D-Day Memorial in Bedford if we have time.

Thought you'd gone already, Corin!
If you're interested in using some HTMl I whipped up to publish your novel next month, there's a screenshot in the Hole. We can even customize it - but then, you're fairly computer literate and maybe you want to do your own thing.

Or do y'all have to worry about laying in wood for the winter in Richmond? Lots of people around here heat with wood or at least have a fireplace. Our chimney has a crack in the flue so we don't use the fireplace. We were in a court process with the previous owners for several years, but finally told our attorney just to settle and take whatever they offered for his payment - so we use candles.
But neighbors on either side use wood and I think they'll take the tree. We've got a tree man coming in a couple of weeks to take down the one the branch fell from earlier. My neighbor will take that for wood as well.
I'm far less concerned about getting rid of wood than I am about one falling on the house.

I'll take a look at the screen shot. I'm assuming you mean the Yahoo Hole?
I'm not sure how I want to present mine. I'm actually thinking of "publishing" it online if I can pull it off. But I'll make it available for the Hobbit Hole regulars to read first.
To: JenB
Well that one wasn't too bad...
To: Corin Stormhands
Yup! It's a really simple design. Actually my idea is to have 30 "story pages"; I want to archive by day. There's a calendar to work as navigation and room for a couple links (mostly to explain what this is about or have a list of characters.)
The thing I am worried about is I am using a "textarea" element for the story text. This works well for getting line breaks in, and since I'm using stylesheets I can work on the font, color, that sort of thing, but I can't do in-text formatting. You don't happen to know a way around that, do you?

Thought you'd gone already, Corin! Just checking in. We're off to watch A Beautiful Mind because it's due back at Blockbuster in the a.m.
So now you can consider me gone until at least Sunday night (more likely Monday a.m.)
To: Corin Stormhands
Hi Everyone!!!! Me too. Checking in that is.
One helluva week (work wise), which didn't allow me to check in much.
How's the Hole tonight?
We windy elves wanna know.
To: Scott from the Left Coast
Quiet. Nobody seems to be around except me and Hair.

Well, you and Hair are pretty good, as far as I'm concerned!
But then, I'm a sweet-talker with the gals, just ask Corin.
