Well, thank you!
As to your homeschooling post... well, I personally would never in a trillion years put a kid in the public school systems. There are sacrifices that can be made... single income, help from relatives, whatever, but if it's possible I will do it. Of course there are people who shouldn't homeschool. But, on the whole, these days at least, public schools do not properly educate children. When I go to college and am the only person in the class who can A. write a coherent essay B. have a consistent worldview and C. accomplish such simple feats as placing Homer as BC rather than AD, that says something to me.
However, FR is rather tilted in favor of homeschooling and I suppose we need some people like you to say otherwise.

Uh oh... missing /font tag? Does that still happen?

So when you say you wouldn't put a kid in public schools, I can believe that... you know what you know...
I just know what I know, and can't imagine doing anything else either. I think I am OK too. But I live in a good area. I can imagine homeschooling young kids, but not older ones, but that is me, and what I think I personally could offer compared to what is out there.
As for having a consistent world view at 19... Mine changed three times at least, probably all in college. I don't regret that. I don't regret that I was exposed to and tried out views that were new and not those of my parents. I think that is the time that I had the freedom to choose to come back to a view that is more like my father than I ever would have imagined.

Did I forget to close it? - It looks normal to me.... did my Roman font continue?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
</font>
To: HairOfTheDog
Yes, it's a weirdness! The Roman font continues in one browser, but in the other browser it looks perfectly normal...
Let's try this...
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Am I a friend, a roman, or a countryman?
To: HairOfTheDog
I look normal in my browser (IE) but I have set a specified font here.... arial, I am not using the default font.
To: HairOfTheDog
That didn't work...
Let's try this...
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Great, I'll let you know when I have it :-)
Not to sound naive, but the one part of web design I don't have much experience in is publishing the stuff online. How will we get it from our computers to your website? Will you have to update? That would be a pain for you...

What are we trying?

What browsers are you using? I see everything perfectly normal. You're not using Netscape or something stupid are you?

He does use something stupid like Netscape.... LOL!
To: HairOfTheDog
You know there's a reason Netscape is packaged with AOL... at my company, we design our software to be IE compatible, no need to worry about Netscape anymore.

I tried changing the font face back... it looks ok in Netscape, but Opera still has the Roman font face for everything, very odd.
And Netscape isn't stupid.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Ever tried IE? Or you just like bein' difffernt?
To: JenB
How will we get it from our computers to your website?I think I can set up an FTP account for you to use, so all you will have to do is log in with an FTP client and upload your finished HTML file. I won't mind having to do a little update work either, if it's required... linking to the new page, for instace.
To: HairOfTheDog
I've tried IE, I don't care for it.
I use the last pre-AOL Netscape, version 4.8.
To: HairOfTheDog
Oh, and I like being different too.
:)

I think there is plenty of space at the Yahoo Hole... too, for you guys to upload your stuff....
Even if we ran out of space, I could download backups of some of the fringe stuff, like the Mac versions of the books... (I don't think we have any Mac members anymore) for safekeeping to make room.
