Uh oh. Didn't know there were night time Elf friend visitors to the Hole. I better make myself scarce before they get to that bit on androgyny I sparked! See ya later, time for the long drive home!!

My 10 year old will likely tackle the trilogy on his own this year, after he finishes the Harry Potter books. We're planning on making a family reading of LOTR a yearly tradition, starting in the winter and finishing around Easter.Mine's read HP too. I was 13 when I read the Hobbit, but didn't read the trilogy until I was 17. It's great at any age. I love your idea of reading out loud to the whole family, but no way am I as creative as you with the voices.... I should take lessons.... ;^)

He is definitely questioning his kingly (I almost typed kinkly) qualities at that pointI don't think he's questioning whether or not he could be King, but is wondering whether the weakness of Isildur was passed to him through the bloodline along with his title.

Hi, Wordsmith,
"Can't be an elf. They're socialists"
That's a negative.
However I agree with someone who posted earlier, you have a beautiful family.

Yeah, I've done alot of reading it aloud also.

Hi, SuziQ, good evening...there's been lot's of posts today, plus some actual discussion of LOTR.

Owww oww ow. That test was bad. Really, really bad. My hands hurt and those questions - ugh, I hate databases. But I think I did kinda ok. Probably not less than a B. Maybe an A. Have to wait and find out...

Jen, can you please provide the link to the NaMoWriMo -- tell me mo site? I just want to check it out....
Thanks!

That test was bad. Really, really bad. Just think. 5 to 10 years from now no one will care what you made on this test. :)

Except she probably did great, by most folk's standards.
To: Sam Cree
Probably. So she shouldn't get too upset, right?
To: Overtaxed
I reckon she's a bright young lady
I think those elves were female behind Haldir...I just supposed their army was unisex or something....a bizarre scene though, a little.
To: Sam Cree
Really! Those elves putting their women-folk on the front line. How PC/liberal of them! :)

OT, are you doing the NaMoWriMo thingie?
To: Sam Cree
Sam, what exactly is a Banana Republican? Inquiring Northerners want to know.....

OT, are you doing the NaMoWriMo thingie? I'm planning on it. If I can ever decide what to write!

Got some venison, butter and vermouth cooking in the old cast iron skillet, man does that smell good. Back shortly.
