I'm switching back and forth while waiting for the stuff to sink in. It's afternoon here and the house is totally quiet - the family went somewhere. Now is a good time for me to get stuff done...

Well, it is getting a bit late in the morning now... been playing some video games and playing with my dog, who is in a really weird mood today!
I should probably start getting something done, at least the tidying and the laundry!
To: HairOfTheDog
Eh, hire some Dwarves to do it!

Underpants gnomes perhaps?
To: HairOfTheDog
Sounds like a great idea. If you find any, let me know and I'll use them too!

I will let you know if they bring any of my underwear back!

don't mind waiting for hours Hehehe.....this hobbit doesn't wait in line. I pre-purchase tickets.
To: Overtaxed
Yes, but even if you pre-purchase tickets, on premier night, you have to wait in line to get a good seat!
To: HairOfTheDog
I won't be going at midnight. I pre-purchase tickets for the matinee.
To: Overtaxed
Well, I will probably do that too! ;~D
This year I am gonna try make the midnight show with all of the hard-cores in costume and geeky stuff... I think it would be a great bit of fun!
Last year I didn't see it till it had been out a week and there was still a line an hour early to get a good seat, even though I already had the ticket!
I showed up most nights that week and read my book and ate popcorn and watched people, trying to see how many looked like me...
You could bring your whistle and play "concerning hobbits!" I am sure 2J will be doing that!
To: HairOfTheDog
I'm trying to decide whether to take the day off and catch the first show or just go after work.
Last year I pre-purchased tickets and there were two people doing the same. On the Day of the Movie, I just walked in (no lines.) The theater was "pretty much" full...a few empty seats. I suppose I should tell you that this was a small theater (4 screens) in a college town on the last day of exams so the town's population was down about 20,000 to 30,000 people.
To: HairOfTheDog
...and they probably will throw me out for playing a whistle during the movie! :)
To: HairOfTheDog
...more weed whacking.
To: Overtaxed
I meant play the whistle BEFORE the movie, in line, silly....
The theater that had it last year is not our best theater in town, but it is the one that is in the major chain, so, I imagine they will have it again this year... They have about six screens, One biggest room, and then a couple almost-as-big-rooms, and then a few small closets with a screen.
The other theater in town is nicer, with nice comfy seats. Now that would be nice!
FoTR started out in the biggest and stayed there at least a month, but then kept moving to the smaller and smaller theaters. It worked.
It was sold out most every night for the first few weeks, every chair. No elbow room between even! But I didn't care.

Afternoon Hair! The pool thing went great. I just had to help set up, then went to Jrs football game. I was going to help cleanup when we got back, but they were all done.
Little one still has a cold, but the nausea is gone.
I'm here avoiding painting windows. But I can have an excuse, the Mrs. is at the mall getting new tires for the van and I let Jr. go to a friends, so I'm here with little one.
To: Corin Stormhands
Well, I have been here minding the fort, which is important work that I can do while I keep the laundry monster fed...
The dishes need done too, so I guess that is next... Typical Saturday life maintenance for me!
To: HairOfTheDog
Still studying. This stuff is interesting but I can't figure out how we're going to be tested on it. I'm avoiding the Database stuff since that test isn't til Thursday...

I have laundry in.
I'm boycotting the dishes because we're out of groceries (I had cereal for lunch). So if the Mrs. isn't home soon with a plan the little one and I are heading to Chick-Fil-A. (I'm not helpless, she just happens to have all the grocery budget with her).

(I'm not helpless, she just happens to have all the grocery budget with her). [heh] UH HUH!
Hey! Here is a scan of an article that is written in french that I can't read! (though I took two years of french) Perhaps Corin Junior can translate it for us?
(Legolas fans, check out the eyes in the last photo.... looks like a full page ad for the game) I want that picture!)

Here is translation of some of the info in the article...
Want To Know Just WHAT French Premiere Has To Say?
Xoanon @ 12:38 pm EST
Thioden was kind enough to translate bits of the French Premiere article we posted just a few hours ago. Take a look at some massive spoilerage!
I have taken a look at the TTT article in the French magazine premiere, and have translated for you some interesting tidbits:
[...] some changes from the book have to be predicted, for example Elrond and Galadriel's participation to the battle of Helm's Deep, and the demise of the wizard Saruman.
Now that pretty much confirms that Saruman dies in The Two Towers, as earlier stories reported. And I assume that both Elrond and Galadriel send contingents of Elves to Helm's Deep to help the Rohirrim.
ALSO:
...Fran Walsh promises us a real tragic follow up to Arwen and Aragorn's love-story.
...John Rhys-Davies has given a Welsh accent to the Ent Treebeard, whom he voices.
...The construction of Minas Tirith has taken itself 32 weeks of hard work.
...The flashback scene of Smeagol before he was enslaved by the power of the Ring is in the can, and directed by Fran Walsh.
Xoanon here, I'm not too sure about Fran directing the Smeagol/Deagol scenes, I do know she was writing them the last I spoke with her a while back, could it be she directed that segment with a 2nd unit? Who knows...
To: HairOfTheDog
I guess the images aren't hosted at TORN, so I can post them!
I am particularly enamored by the Legolas!
