Baaaaad Hobbit! (the pictures were here this morning!)
Our Lab didn't eat the couch, just the corners of rugs.
This year's been the outside of the house for us. We got new vinyl siding and I'm glazing and painting the windows and storm windows. Actually got quite a bit of work done.
Inside we've done all the rooms except our bedroom and bath and the boys bathroom. Although Corin Jr. has started stripping the wallpaper in his room. The people that owned the house really liked Williamsburg blue. Unfortunately, their "taste" ended there. So the boys bathroom has blue tile and a floral print wallpaper. Fortunately it's strippable wallpaper, so it will come right off. Unfortunatley, the unstrippable wallpaper under it is even uglier...
We're going to do a nautical/ocean theme. And I may paint the walls with fish so it looks like you're under water.
But the Mrs. said I couldn't paint the walls around the toilet to look like a sunken treasure chest...
Probably not in Florida, but a lot of the older southern towns are built around town squares. Heck, Savannah is built around 17 of 'em...(or something like that)
We are too! Did you see the way they ran over Western Michigan today? Go Hokies!!!
What? You didn't mean Virginia Tech?....nevermind...
Okay, what did we end up getting?
I did manage to stop on the way home and buy the DVDs for Dad for tomorrow
So what DVD's did you get?
I'm shopping for the Extended Release LOTR. Who did you order yours from (that arrived ahead of time?) Was it Walmart? They've got the free LOTR T-shirt promotion again.
I've actually only watched them once. And our son doesn't have any, but I'm sure he'd like them.
("You can't say everybody's got a waterbuffalo when everyone does not have a waterbuffalo! We're going to get nasty letters saying 'Where's my waterbuffalo? Why don't I have a waterbuffalo?' And are you prepared to deal with that? I don't think so! So stop being so silly!")
There are some small towns in MS that have town squares; usually the courthouse sits on it. I know Lexington has one, and I'm sure Oxford has one.
Lots of New England towns have commons. The town meeting house, which was usually the Congregational Church, sat on it. The Cong. Church sits at one end of ours and has been there since, I think, the mid 1800s.
That's cool that you're doing a drawing course. I took one in the summer of 1976, just before we left MS for Sir SuziQ to do his graduate work at Florida State. We haven't lived there since, but my Mama, and our sisters and brothers, with a couple of exceptions, are still there.
Hey, don't forget Spongebob in your decorating plans! Maybe she'll let you have a pineapple? Sounds like he would fit right in to your new bathroom plan.
I got my new computer and have been playing with it most of the day. I've been playing the LOTR DVD and loading some pictures, etc. I configured a wireless network so I can have the laptop anywhere upstairs (main floor) while the modem is plugged in to the cable in the basement.
Now I have to go grocery shopping to pay for my laziness by order of the Domestic Authority, aka the wonderful one. Will check in later.
BTW in the interest of self disclosure, I posted a photo of my family (Me, the wonderful one, and my two jedis) in my profile on the yahoo site.... Keep it Secret. Keep it Safe.
