When they were newborns, the kids were in a bassinet, at the foot of the bed, though I guess they could have actually been in the bed. Could that have been better?
Our babies never slept through the night until well after 6 months, so we didn't get much sleep and my wife often nursed them in the middle of the night. When did your kids sleep all night?
Surprisingly, I was often the one to wake up first if a kid needed its Mom. Though I'm not sure she'll admit to that?
I'm going to try posting a picture of them now, if there's a good one in the computer; I've enjoyed the pictures of your little ones and wouldn't mind showing off my own.

Matthew took a few weeks, because I kept trying to lay him in a bassinet, and he hated it and would scream bloody murder. He went from 6# to 4# in those weeks and everyone was frantic. One night I stuck him in the bed with me because my inlaws were visiting and I didn't want him screaming. He slept all night, waking up slightly to nurse. He started gaining weight and I said phooey, this is the way to go! He started sleeping in his crib partially through the night at about 4 months and by a year old, he was all night long in his own bed. (Whenever he woke up in the crib, I just went and got him and nursed him and we both went back to sleep...this usually happened around 3am.)
With Josh, I abandoned the crib entirely. He slept with me till about 4 months old, then we went through the same thing.
Oh, he slept the whole night away the first night after he was born! Now he would wake up partially and I would nurse him right then back to sleep...he never really woke up and really, neither did I. I had none of that exhaustion I had after Matthew.
I think you do whatever works. This worked well for us.

Okay, I am in the chat room now!!

"I think you do whatever works."
When they are infants they can't be spoiled, we were told, I think that's correct. But pretty soon they must know the difference between right and wrong.
Raising kids is the best thing I ever did. Even though I didn't want them and had to be talked into it by my wife, Jeanne. My Mom thought doing that was the reason for our existence.
I'm still searching for a pic.

You and anyone else still in the chat room? I can't get it to load.... it seems to be hanging at the "logging me in.... stage"
Back from getting the new fish... My Bala seems pleased to have some companions in the tank... But her new mate is just a tiny young thing ... they didn't have any even close to her size... I hope she doesn't mind...
I bought 10 neons too, and a Betta...

I'm not in the chat room. Should I learn how to get in? I'm not actually sure what it is. How does one chat?
To: Sam Cree
Do you belong to the Yahoo Hobbit Hole site?

"Do you belong to the Yahoo Hobbit Hole site?"
No, I'm not actually sure what it is.
To: Sam Cree
Then you must not belong yet! It is our private secret hidey hole! There is a chat room, and a files section, and some other stuff there..
Click the link above... and you will find a link to join the egroup... Then one of us can let you in and you can see!
You will need to create a Yahoo ID, if you don't already have one.

We created it awhile back to have a chat room to watch live events like the oscars and stuff, and since then we go there sometimes and do chat-views of the movie, we watch it together, and talk about it! We don't use it alot, but sometimes we choose to hang there and idly chit chat instead of putting it on the record ;~D

2JM, I couldn't find the image of my son and my daughter together, I'll have to ask her where it is.
Here is my daughter as a senior in high school, 3 years ago, her self portrait. She doesn't look so different now. Don't you guys think that she's pretty?
To: Sam Cree
She sure is Sam!
To: 2Jedismom
What a nice story about your kids! For the last four or five of us, Mom had this big Longaberger basket that was designed to be a cradle - it had detatchable rockers and special mattress and everything. And she'd put it right by the side of her bed - she had a waterbed then, and they're low - until the baby was big enough to go in the crib.

You are in Sam!

I don't remember where I slept!
To: HairOfTheDog
Oddly enough, I have very few memories of my life as an infant either.

Well, I'm not too sure yet how to work the chat room, but I guess I'll get it figured out.
Apparently you can actually vocalize in the thing? This computer does have a mike which I can't work.
Can you also communicate by typing?
I have a couple memories of being two years old, but not many. My twin brother has one from his crib. I think most of us don't remember much before about 4, though I'm pretty sure that events in those years influence us alot.

Bear and I are in there now... Ecurbh just came in! Jen just left.... come and check it out!

I wonder how much they get for it. I saw it for $79.99 on half.com, I think it was. The full retail price was $120.00. It is a total of 5 DVDs. Netflix has the DVDs available for rent now. I'd like to see them, to see the extra features like commentaries, trivia stuff, etc.
It was wonderful before, can't wait to see it again!
