Actually, the Volvo exploded when it ran into a tree after Samantha lost control because the deer had joined her in the driver's seat!
That movie is one of the first I ever bought on DVD; I just LOVE it!
"I be honkin, Miss Daisy".
Oh yeah! Just 'snaig' and run!
Be safe, g'nad!!
I just hate it when deer do that. Darn pushy animals, think they rule the road...
When were at Keesler? My Mama lives about 14 miles east of Biloxi in Gautier. Since you've been there, and could recognize some of the places, you need to read the book "Mississippi Mud" by Edward Humes. It is a true story about the murders of a sitting judge and his mayoral-candidate wife in the mid 80s. It really lays bare the sleaziness of the political scene from the early 70s to the late 80s.
You got that right! When we're driving back and forth from Pittsburgh, where our #2 son is in college, I'm always nervous at night because I never know if a deer is going to jump out on the highway while we're flying along at 70 mph. That would certainly ruin our day (and the deer's)!
We take a shortcut through the Poconos by Tobyhanna State Park and it is slower driving there, but we've seen deer every time we've gone through there, day AND night!
Very funny! Sadly, it has square doors, but it's still a rather hobbitty house as houses go. Here's what it looks like...or looked like when I moved in (now it's less bare looking, but the grass needs mowing BADLY!
Early '95 - only from January to April. I actually didn't see much of the local area since I was an Airman Basic and they didn't allow us off base much. I did go to the mall there pretty often - other people complained about how small it was, but for me, it seemed HUGE!
Up this way, we have moose. THAT'S scary - they're so tall that if you DO hit one, you hit the legs and the moose basically lands with all its weight on your windshield. And they aren't exactly small and light!
A lot of people have bumper stickers that say "Brake for Moose - It Could Save Your Life". What scares me are the people (mostly young guys) who tear around on the back roads at high speeds - they wouldn't have TIME to brake!
Yikes!! I'm glad you were ok. A friend in NJ hit one once with her 68 Ford Station Wagon. That vehicle was a TANK, but the deer still smashed the hood!
