You missed the speech even if you would not have wasted time sneaking ;~D

I heard the first ten minutes of the speech on the way to class but now I'm at the mercy of friendly hobbitses...
Hello all. I went home and watched the 60 minutes special last night - wow, we have a great president. And then I watched as much of the 9-11 special that followed as I could. I'd seen it once and it got to be too much... so I went to bed.
I'm still waiting on the new power cord/adapter for my laptop. Today, I hope...

Oh well, I read some of it on another thread, and I imagine there will be a transcript up later. Sounds like he means business.

The pre-packaged presentations had almost stopped getting to me by last night. Then Fox did their "As it happened" kind of coverage (it was still edited) and that brought it all back for me again.
The uncertainty, the stammering, the talking heads who had no idea what to say. The real reaction. That captivated me again... Trying to put myself back in the frame of mind of not knowing how it would turn out.

You missed the speech even if you would not have wasted time sneaking ;~D At least she wasn't over disrupting the live thread.
Very series indeed.
(did my morning story really not make sense? is it worth trying to splain?)
To: RosieCotton
hehehe, I wondered where all the sneakses were this morning!
Good morning!

I seem to gather than Bush's speech went over well. I'm so excited that the first presidential vote I'll have the chance to cast will be to re-elect W...

Can you believe I was accused of disrupting? I mean, nucular weapons
are very series!
Sent to Took's corner.
heh... and no, your morning post doesn't make any sense!

hehehe, I wondered where all the sneakses were this morning! Yes, I DID sneak, I freely admit that.
However, you will notice that I did NOT spam.
I'm trying to quit...

SPAMFREE SNEAKING [snicker!]
To: JenB
My first presidential vote was for Reagan's re-election in '84. I was similarly excited....
To: HairOfTheDog
SPAMFREE SNEAKING Just had to do it, didn't you?
Who originated spam sneaking, anyway? I seem to remember someone posted instructions for doing it - I didn't figure it out on my own.
And so spam was invented...and a new age dawned in the Hobbit Hole...

There was such pain in his eyes at the news, and yet he continued with what he was doing so that the children wouldn't know right away. I seem to remember the mediots remarking that it looked like he didn't care because he didn't react.
The documentary itself talked about how he felt he needed to finish what he was doing and didn't feel that the children needed to hear the news yet. The mediots just didn't look close enough. They were busy looking for a blatant reaction and didn't look at his eyes. His eyes are so expressive.

What a let-down THAT was. Ugh.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Hmm. I remember going with my mom to vote in an election... it must have been for Bush, I wouldn't remember Reagan's reelection.

Wow. What a great speech! He seemed angry. When he spoke of 9/11, his expression got very hard. I'm so glad we have him for a president. Thank you God!
I must admit, I'm glad it's over. I've been praying a hedge of protection around him for days now.
I am so mad. I am just as mad as I was a year ago. I remember seeing that picture that Billie did with the Statue of Liberty collapsed sobbing in Uncle Sam's arms and not being able to relate at all. (It was a good picture, don't get me wrong.) But this one has always most demonstrated how I feel.

heh... and no, your morning post doesn't make any sense! Well, I'm not sure it's worth splaining and I'm fresh out of tin foil. But I'll try:
Ann Compton said: "the UN has been passing resolutions dealing with Saddam for a decade now..."
But another voice came on and it sounded like they inserted the words "for centuries" like an "aside" so that I heard:
"the UN has been passing resolutions dealing with Saddam for a decade for centuries now..."

I wouldn't remember Reagan's reelection. Sigh. Gerald Ford '76. Where's LCS when I need him around?
To: 2Jedismom
I like that one too... and I liked the other one with Lady Liberty sobbing too. I can identify with both emotions. Yours is for the heat of battle and getting rid of the threat, but when it is over, or when there is a quiet moment, it is sure nice to fall into someone's arms and cry.
I have felt both emotions!
