Thanks, I just had a bad headache - much better this morning. I am a morning hobbit as well. I am usually at work around 7.

Well, I still haven't tried out the Sam's rabbit stew...maybe today! I need to go back and figure out the herbs of Ithilien. It says he simmered the rabbit with "bunched" herbs...I figure he must have tied them together in a bunch? I think I could brown the rabbit a little before adding the water, but to be true, I couldn't use flour or oil.
It sounds like fun and the boys would love it. Any tips?

It sounds like fun and the boys would love it. Any tips? I'm still trying to find rabbit without having to snare them myself! I could get frozen rabbit up until our local grocery store went yuppie. Browning the rabbit first sounds good...I always like a well-browned piece of meat. As for the bunched herbs....maybe you could make an "herb bag" by tying them up in a piece of cheesecloth and stewing them along with the rabbit.

I'm not sure where I'm going to get the coney either, I'll call some butchers, I guess!
These are the herbs I intend to use...
Bay leaf
Thyme
Sage
Margoram
Parsley
The bag is a good idea...it has a fancy name, but I can't remember it.

Sounds good...think you should add rosemary? :)
If you can wait until I get home, I can look up rabbit in The Joy of Cooking. They have a section on how to cook rabbit complete with skinning diagrams.
When do we eat? :D

It seems I remember rosemary being mentioned, but can't find it now!! Oh for clearer vision first thing in the morning. I need to make coffee!

I am still trying to figure out what to pick to NOT be Boromir again! -
Hullo ALL! - Good Morning! - I am just waking up and sipping! [coffee]

Drinking lots of water is good to get rid of a hangover. :)

Yes, I know thaT all too well!
But I am not hung over. Sleepy from staying up so late, but I do not have a hatchet in my head this morning.
I did forget that I had colored my hair yesterday until I went to the bathroom, so that was a bit of a shock...
Now, was the talk about tattoos real or was that a dream?... hmmm...

Thanks! But I think I'll wait for the Director's cut.

Hey all,
Silly question here. How many of you have heard of/play Middle Earth Play by Mail?
To: Overtaxed
Not going to buy this one? - Ooh I will! - There are neat goodies on it (at least the price is reasonable)... 10 minute Two Towers behind the scenes preview! I will end up with both of the dang things... I know it.
To: order_of_reason
Not so silly - but I barely know about the existance of the role-playing games that go on. I assume this by-mail game is one of those?
To: Overtaxed
I know, but some of us cannot wait that long (3 extra months!) and will be buying both versions.

What does it mean, widescreen edition? Is it gonna have those black bars up at the top and bottom? My dvd player has a zoom and I normally just zoom them away, but I find them annoying...

Not exactly, It is more along the lines of a very complex board game, mixed in with aspects of Advanced Civilization, and, well, yes some amount of rpging.
check it out at
Middle earth games The reason I asked, is that I am currently playing there, and maybe if we could get a bunch of Freepers, it may make for a fun team game. If you are interested, check out the site or Freepmail me.

Yes wide screen is the letterbox (cinema screen) edition - You do realize when you zoom in you miss whatever is on each side of the screen! - hmmm... Been thinking about getting a new TV, how much are the letterbox TVs?
