I can understand that. I wonder how he acquired the thing in the first place.
To: Overtaxed
It was probably sent to him by an auntie he has over in the old country. She send them every year, sweet lady.

Makes a good chew toy.
To: Overtaxed
I think my dogs may roll on it, but not chew it!

Morning, friends. I'm not very well so I'm home resting and reading instead of going to church. Yes, I was up until 1 last night finishing
The Mote in God's Eye - great novel - but I swear that's not why I feel sick. This afternoon is IT!!!! That's right, my first time watching FotR on DVD at home. I could start it now but I'm waiting for my sisters to get back from church.
Ohh, yay! The RenFest starts next week! It's practically on the way home from church, if my parents will leave money I'll take the guys while they're out of town next Sunday. Ouch - $12 for adults and $6 for kids. Slightly reduced if you get them at Eckerd - hmm, must ask Mom....

Good Morning Jen!
I am still sitting and sipping some coffee, should be tidying up the place a bit for company. Brother is coming down to help me learn FTP later, and there may be a DVD viewing with him as part of the day!
To: JenB
Oh - and Sorry you aren't feeling well... A little rest may go a long way... Take it easy today then!
To: HairOfTheDog
Thanks! I am now starting on the sequel to "Mote in God's Eye". Thank goodness my dad has good taste in SF!

2JM, how did the Kia drive?Really nice! I drove the top of the line minivan called a Sedona and it had leather interior and seemed very deluxe to me, after driving my bare bones Aeorstar. It sold for $23K, sticker price and I thought that was very reasonable.
One thing I asked him about was how easy was it to repair. He said it had a 10 year warranty on the major stuff and a 5 year warranty on everything...which I though was pretty good. Zero % interest. We usually keep a car about 7-10 years. It's a car to keep in mind in a couple of years.
You single ladies and gentlement should test drive the Sportage...I wanted to but the guy didn't think it was something I'd really be interested in. Being a slightly pudgy housewife with two little kids tagging along made it impossible for me to project the sporty outdoorsy girl image needed to drive such an automobile!
To: 2Jedismom
OH stop with this pudgy housewife image you keep trying to fool us with cutie pie!
Hullo! - Good Morning!
To: HairOfTheDog
Hey, I could really picture you in one of these Sportages...
The guy didn't even offer to let me test drive it. Took one look at us and took me straight to the minivans...I kid you not.
To: HairOfTheDog
Here's what I drove:
Boring....
To: 2Jedismom
I was gonna say, no, that's not boring - but you're right, it is. At least it's not as big as a Ford Expedition, which is what my family drives....

Nah - I need a big truck to pull my ponies around with... But thanks.... Between you and LCS, my image is improved around here... much better than the old "tattooed biker chick with legs like tree trunks" image Dan tried to stick me with way back when!
To: HairOfTheDog
The Sportage could be your second car! ;-)
Steve is continuing the pullilng of weeds between the fence...boys are playing on the slip and slide and I am going to mow...as soon as I finish this cup of coffee.
To: JenB
What I'd really like is one of those really big Chevy things...A Suburban! Of course, they cost half the price of our house, so it'll never happen. I like big. "Get the heck out of my way!" sized!
To: 2Jedismom
I am trying to imagine myself cleaning house. Visualization techniques I learned in college.

We skipped church this morning. Our church sold their old building (where we have Sunday school) to the Assembly of God down the street. (They gave us their old church as part of the deal.) So we aren't having Sunday School till the move is made, after next week.
We are having a joint worship with the the AG folks this evening up at our big place on the hill, then dinner on the grounds. Ought to be interesting. We normally don't go to evening worship on Sundays, but I wouldn't miss this for the world!
To: HairOfTheDog
Ok, going outside to mow. See you guys sometime during the next 100 posts!

Good morning everyone...
Recovered a bit from my marathon LOTR viewing of last night... wow! 6 hours, watching the movie and then all the special features. Was great! Only the third time we'd seen the movie, and Rose and I had a lot of fun stopping and going over some parts in slow-mo (like Legolas running up the chain to attack the cave troll!) and talking about all the background stuff that we couldn't talk about in the theater.
Jen, just finished re-reading both The Mote in God's Eye and The Gripping Hand here. Enjoyed them both, although I think the sequel doesn't quite match the original!
Have a good day all!
