It's the scrimping and saving for 7000 years that's the killer! Just hope the inflation rate doesn't exceed your interest rate!

Hubby and I are going to watch it...I'll check in later to see who all got it at midnight.
To: 2Jedismom
I have to be the most obsessed one of all! Wanna arm-wrestle?
To: Overtaxed
A cheap Elf? Yeah, like Elrond only sending eight people to accompany Frodo to Mordor, and none of them from his household... or maybe like Thingol not wanting to pony up for the Nauglamir!
To: 2Jedismom
How many times have you watched it?
To: HairOfTheDog
I thought JenB got it, anyway.
To: Overtaxed
What do they need money for? - I didn't see money change hands once in the story... Even at the Inn at the Prancing Pony...
To: HairOfTheDog
Did you ever get the bootleg to play right on your machine - either before or after the upgrade?Upgrade?? Upgrade??
I did watch it that night we watched it in the chat room, just couldn't get synchronized with you guys.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Yeah...with all that loot the Elves have stockpiled over the years you'd think they'd pay their own way. :)
To: Overtaxed; HairOfTheDog
I saw it 19 times in the cinema before I quit counting...
I have parental responsibilities that keep me from going completely over the edge...the movie has played non-stop since we got home, however! LOL
To: DonnerT
If I'd been closer to Austin we would have met? Well, not necessarily... sometimes I just wave at cars passing on the highway!
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
Oh - So it did work? - I thought there was something wrong with your sound... you haven't watched it since?
To: HairOfTheDog
In the movie, I don't remember seeing money. The book is quite full of it - well, there is money, anyway. Remember Butterburr paid for the ponies when the Nazgul scared them off? And of course Bilbo with his "hill all full of gold - and jools, they say".

(Bear is a little weird Donner, the girl at Wal Mart told me so)
To: Overtaxed
Maybe that's why they're so eager to head for the West... sneaking off with all their loot before the other races get wise!
To: 2Jedismom
I saw it 19 times in the cinema before I quit counting...Yes, but did you read it 19 times?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
none of them from his householdWell the only one who was rumored to be going from Elrond's household was Arwen, and you remember how popular that idea was!!
To: JenB
hehehehe - I know... But I didn't get the feeling any of them were carrying money on the quest... They didn't have to buy supplies, food, anything!
To: HairOfTheDog
I didn't see money change hands once in the story... Even at the Inn at the Prancing Pony... What about the part where Frodo felt he had fallen in with a rogue and worried that he couldn't spare any of his money and all of it would hardly satisfy? And Butterbur paid 12 silver pennies for Bill and gave Merry 18 more for the loss of his ponies.
To: Overtaxed
He gave Merry money? - I had forgotten that! - OK... I retract.
