Connery talks LORD OF THE RINGS
While his stay in Prague Sean Connery told a journalist that the role of Gandalf was offered to him but he denied because he didn´t understand the story with all this hobbits, elves and other characters. I still haven´t seen the movie but have heard that Ian McKellen did a good job and even have read the book probably.

Is that me? - Great picture!
To: HairOfTheDog
Hehehe...it will be if you keep coddling crows.
To: Overtaxed
Not coddling... just letting things be.

Are you at all glad that Sean Connery was not Gandalf?
I mean, he is great... but almost too recognizable... too much to become just part of the story... maybe...
And he has an unbelievable shallow view of the story...
To: HairOfTheDog
Yeah I am glad about that. I think if Connery got the Gandalf job, Gandalf would have become Connery.
To: Overtaxed
That is a good way to put it!
To: HairOfTheDog
....and it's apparent Connery doesn't "get it".

Hi! Back from a lousy night of pizza delivery. People were really really stingy - I got about $10 in tips for 8 deliveries. But now I'm home, in my nice room, and it's quiet and I can sit. Things are not all bad in the world!

Oh man, I love Sean Connery, but I can quite see him as Gandalf. I guess because Ian McKellan is SO good, that he has become Gandalf in my mind. But it would have saved us from having to see him paw his boy-toy at the Oscars!
To: Overtaxed
I realize it is a bit early for some folks but I am ready to retire and I wanted to contribute my favorites to the night-light collection.
Good
Night
sneaks!
Why doesn't the second picture show up?

Maybe they will break up before the next oscars... or maybe this time it will be someone else's turn to be nominated!
