Thanks for the ping... I went and made a couple of comments, but I don't think they were well received. Oh well, I guess that's what I get for enjoying literary trash. < /sarcasm >

No longer funny. Never was!
To: JenB
(shrug) I thought it was funny. But as the saying goes, brevity is the soul of wit...

Aragorn is dirty and wet. He has a wound to his left shoulder - like a sword wound. His has blood on his hands and he is very wet. If there really is a scene like this in the movie I will be even more miffed at PJ's departures from the book. I hope Hutt River Girl is wrong!
Am I missing something? - What is so very wrong with that scene? - There are big epic battle scenes in the book... we have seen that it will be raining at Helms Deep... Aragorn got scratched in a fight... I don't see this as a huge departure... ????? What is troubling you so about this?
To: HairOfTheDog
Maybe it's a flashback?

Maybe... Whose flashback? That is the question...
OK so we were both harsh on the other thread... But the bias was deafening, we had to shout, right?
To: JenB

Don't worry... I've got your back
To: JenB
I thought it was a good post.
Remind me never to get you mad at me.

Just don't start acting like a dane and we'll be fine!
I must still be stressed. But he deserved it, discriminating against SF like that!

But he deserved it, discriminating against SF like that!
I agree.
That'll teach me to stray from the ol' Hole.

You do know I was using slang for "mundane", as in non-SF fan, right?

(cough, cough)
To: HairOfTheDog
I guess its just my memory hole problem. I get lost sometimes between my imagination and someone elses.

Whooo-oo! The dane went off. Ha, he should know we fen are more powerful than he could possibly imagine. We have the great ones on our side, and all he has is Joyce and Hemingway.

all he has is Joyce and Hemingway. Honestly... he should have titled his thread "Best Novel Ever Written for Literary Snobs".
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Or "best novel for anyone but those weirdo geeks who manage to run society and invent new stuff and bring me this cool internet thingie I'm using to be all superior about". Sheesh, taste is taste, but SF is good stuff!

Well, this has nothing to do with Hobbits, Rings, or great literature... but I'm going to bed, and here's a pretty sunset to look at:

Goodnight!

Good night all...after an exhausting day, I'm turning in.
