Thune Is Out of Excuses and Must Kill the Filibuster to Pass the SAVE America Act While He Still Can
The JD Rucker Show ^ | November 5, 2026 | JD Rucker

"The ballots are counted. The maps are drawn. Democrats will control the House and the Senate when the new Congress gavels in. That is the premise the country just handed Republicans, and the Senate still has a few weeks of majority power left. John Thune and the usual clutch of RINOs are treating that window like an inconvenience instead of the last clean shot they will get for years."

Hard to find 50 senators that will give up the power of the filibuster.

Once the Democrats take the Senate, discarding the filibuster will be one of the first orders of business.

In the second round of business will be changes to election laws, so that Republicans can never again be elected to attain majority control of either the House or the Senate.

Then Congress will get started on the impeachments.

We have passed the point where voting in "elections" will solve any of our problems.

The dems will get rid of it as soon as they take office. Thune is either stupid or evil.

“ The GOP is dead.”

Has been for decades. Political parties die.

Give it a decent funeral.

Trump’s policies are the sine qua non of this dilemma that has been forced upon us.

That, notwithstanding, I’d like to know why he did it.

There’s no “win” in it for him!

“They” may not impeach him because, obviously, they’ve already got him by the short-hairs.

He’s malleable, but why?

OK, so Thune kills the filibuster and passes the SAVE Act.
Anyone want to bet that the first bill passed by the new democrat congress will be the repeal of the SAVE Act?

“Anyone want to bet that the first bill passed by the new democrat congress ....”

Anyone want to bet that any bill to repeal the SAVE Act will be Vetoed by Trump?

The Leftists don’t have a 2/3rds majority. So their crappy, anti-America legislation will just be vetoed.

JD Rucker needs to review the process for amending Senate Rules - including the filibuster rule. Changes to the Senate Rules are subject to debate and like other forms of legislation, cloture requires a 2/3rds majority vote. In other words, changing the filibuster rule only requires a majority vote, but ending the debate to the proposed rule change requires a 2/3rd majority vote. Thus, Senate RATs and RINOs can filibuster any proposal to change the Senate filibuster rule.

The last thing on John Thune’s mind is what’s good for America. He’s just trying to figure out how to keep his seat at the table. You can’t despise the guy enough.

Thune is and always has been working for the enemies of this country. And that is never going to change.

I predict Thune will NOT push the SAVE Act through to passage. Thune does not take orders from other Republicans Senators (except one) or even South Dakota constituents as far as I can tell. He seems to me to take his marching orders from Mitch McConnell only.

That won’t happen. The Rino Senate loves being the minority party. They can all laugh about it at the Washington cocktail parties with their Democrat Besties and lobbyist pals. Business is still good in the Senate. I

The fili is just a rule.

It can be sent outside at recess to play and then be let back in to rule.
