Yes. I think that strategy worked well in Trump I, when they believed he was going down, while he was in fact taking them down.
I see your Sun Tzu and raise you one Julian Assange tweet (chess game 1918 Capablanca vs Marshal). The famous game strategy intentionally portrayed the (ultimate) winner as losing, losing, losing and all hope is lost and THEN he wins.
I was thinking that White Hat strategy slowed down intentionally, so the Deep Staters can't whip the public into a fury. They were shrieking, "HERE IT COMES! He's going to overthrow the country!!!!!!!!!!!!" and instead he congratulates them, and slowly/methodically works through the levers of government to contest the rigged mid-terms. Why not run the 2020 through court and tag on 2024 election theft?

Some language exceeds the Free Republic speed limit so I'll just insert 'redacted' here 'n there:

@FloppingAces
Democrats are celebrating the supposed death of Trump's presidency like a pack of drunken morons who think winning Congress means somebody unplugged the White House, revoked the Constitution, and hauled the presidency's powers to the nearest [redacted] dumpster.Apparently, nobody told these geniuses about Bill Clinton or Barack Obama.
Clinton lost Congress in 1994. Obama lost the Senate in 2014 after Republicans had already taken the House. Both continued exercising substantial presidential authority. Clinton survived impeachment and left office popular. Obama kept wielding executive power and pursuing his foreign-policy agenda while congressional Republicans frequently struggled to stop him.
Funny how history becomes a [redacted] inconvenience when Democrats discover it applies to their enemies.
Now they're popping champagne, measuring Trump's political coffin, and congratulating themselves on having rendered him irrelevant. What an extraordinary collection of smug, historically illiterate jackasses.
Trump still occupies the Oval Office. He still commands the executive branch, directs foreign policy, appoints executive officials, exercises veto authority, and possesses an enormous platform from which to challenge congressional Democrats. His congressional allies can obstruct legislation, and overriding his veto requires supermajorities.
Those powers didn't evaporate because Democrats won an election, you arrogant [redacted] .
And here's where their celebratory [redacted] becomes especially hilarious.
Every investigation, every legislative confrontation, every grandstanding committee hearing, and every ideological demand creates another opportunity for Democrats to remind Americans why they despised Washington's political circus in the first place.
Republicans suffered a humiliating defeat. That much is undeniable. But Democrats are already behaving as though the presidency itself has been transferred to their victory committee.
Keep celebrating, [redacted]. Keep confusing congressional seats with absolute power. Keep planning Trump's funeral while he's sitting behind the Resolute Desk with a veto pen and two years remaining on the clock.
Because the most humiliating moment of this entire Democratic victory celebration will arrive when the political corpse they've been dancing over reaches for that pen and starts writing their ambitions straight into the [redacted] shredder.
