Power is not about who has more red flags or blue flags. Power is something that’s exercised above, through, and around Congress. Their monopoly on power depends on not noticing how the true game is played.
Congress turns over every 2 years. But the people who build the institutions that persist past Congress are the true wielders of power.
My prayer is that if there’s a silver lining from tonight, we realize our path to survival is through understanding where the levers of power really are, and it’s not by voting one party label harder.
You, too, are the “unelected.” There’s nothing stopping us from safekeeping a Constitutional Republic.
