Within the last week, Edge quit finding freerepublic.com. https://freerepublic.com/home.htm works, but clicking any link gives the NXDOMAIN failure. If I go to chrome, on the same pc, it works? Any ideas?

Send Edge to the bit bucket.

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

Odd that no other site is affected, not that I go to a lot of different sites.

Since only links from FR fail, I’m curios exact address Edge is trying to open. It may differ slightly from the working home-page address?

What are you clicking?

Cant your try this in Edge: https://freerepublic.com/tag/*/index?tab=comments

I’m approaching the point of diminishing returns. I’m more interested in what edge is doing than in serious need of a fix, since chrome works fine. If I use the link you specify, it still gives NXDOMAIN error.

My uninformed guess is that FR admin changed something and edge doesn’t like it.

I get you. That’s why I switched to Chrome many moons ago.

Curious though, can you hit the link in Edge in a New InPrivate window?

Nope. I was using copilot to help sort through this issue. As usual, copilot had some reasonable suggestions, but eventually got bogged down and start going in circles. Just like Microsoft support!

Their apps no longer block ads on Youtube. I’ve been trying out a new browser called Zen. I’m pretty happy with it.

Why use such an inferior browser that cannot even allow multiple tab rows (and silently updates many times?

Floorp is a passion project from Japan that answers the question: "What if Firefox was as customizable as Vivaldi?" Built on the Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release) base, it retains the privacy and engine of Mozilla but unlocks the interface, allowing for vertical tabs, multi-row tab bars, and flexible sidebar panels.

It is community-driven and open-source, ensuring transparency. Users love it for features like "Workspaces" (grouping tabs) and its ability to completely restyle the browser chrome. It fully supports the Firefox extension ecosystem, so you don't lose your favorite add-ons. - https://browsers.to/floorp

Solution #1 Never use Edge. You’re welcome.

All of them spy on you.

Supposedly FireFox does not. It's their main selling point. If they were lying about that they'd be exposed for it in about two seconds.
