I went undercover in Seattle to expose food stamp (EBT) fraud and filmed a $120 EBT card being rung up for one can of Spam and a pack of sushi. A tip from a man on the street led us to a market, a confrontation on camera, and a stolen gun that sent a mob after our security.
Food stamps are supposed to feed people who are struggling. On the streets of Seattle, people told us EBT cards get sold for cash at a fraction of their value, with the cash often going straight to drugs, and we found cards scattered through homeless encampments. I teamed up with citizen journalists Jonathan Choe, Grant and Darren to go undercover as sellers, follow the trail, and see who is allegedly cashing in on a program paid for with your tax dollars.

Sometimes we’d go to a bar that had 50-75 cent drinks and free food!!!
I never was ‘hungry’ but I had a $20/week grocery-household budget so had to be careful. My parents usually had a half of beef in the freezer so I got some free meat here and there.
Sometimes I worked two jobs for extras like vacation and Christimas presents before promotions EARNED were available. God is good!
The people running the program wouldn’t have jobs if no-one got these cards handed out by the government.
Another scam is the diabetic blood testing stripe. Drive around Phoenix and hundreds of signs offer to pay cash for them. Get them free on Medicade and sell them for cash.

You are absolutely correct. I can remember being about 28 and standing in the grocery store with $5 to my name and payday a week away. My husband was temporarily out of work. It makes you toughen up and figure chit out. I spent most of my twenties in and out of financial straits. Never went on food stamps or anything else. I went on to start and operate my own business until I retired.

Yep. I joined the Army at 17; had my 18th Birthday in Army Basic Training.
I gained an amazing skill set and worked toward my college degree and never had a problem finding a job in the civilian world, later. Some jobs I wasn’t even hired for because I had too much on the ball, LOL!

My college roommate and I would collect soft drink bottles for 10 cents each so we could get a Mexican pizza at Chico’s. I even gave blood for the oj and cookies when I was especially hungry. I was working 2 jobs while going to school full time and hit the jackpot job wise/careerwise when I was 21.
I had my 21st birthday in flight attendant school!!!

Start with the IT Vendor in 25+ states...all the big states who commits FRAUD in developing the database for ALL welfare programs that determines who is eligible.
FRAUD and nature of human sin is not limited to the drug addict at the bottom. There are IT and business executives engaged in FRAUD.
My college roommate and I were both pool sharks. We would go to this pool parlor in Tallahassee called the Past time and walk around til we found buys we knew we could beat and then win $10-$20 and had beer and McDonald’s money for the weekend.
That how WIC works. You get vouchers with your name on them and they id you.

Awesome!!! I was flat broke when I became a flight attendant and would bid Las Vegas overnights so I could take a roll of nickels and turn it into a couple hundred dollars!!!!
And you know what? I loved every single second of having to work for a living and enjoy the ‘step ups’ from making more money for a better life.
My only regret is not buying $500 worth of bitcoin when it was $1. 😆
