Former state trooper John Nagel pointed the finger at his opponent, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., and the Democratic Party for allowing Somali American gang-linked violence to escalate in the Twin Cities.
Residents of Eden Prairie and surrounding Twin Cities suburbs have been left fearing for their safety after a string of gang-related incidents this month, including the shooting of two teens outside an Eden Prairie High School football game and more than 100 shell casings recovered in a Bloomington neighborhood.
"Where is Ilhan Omar in all of this?" Nagel, a Minnesota native who spent 30 years as a state trooper, asked in an interview with Fox News Digital.
"I would think that, as a congressman that represents this particular area, that she'd be at these meetings, or she'd have a statement, or she’d be sitting down and saying, ‘Hey, how can we help this? How could we stop this?’ And I don't see her."
Nagel accused other Minnesota Democrats, including Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty, of having their "heads in the sand" and preventing law enforcement from stopping the violence before it got out of control.
"They're being restrained by politicians, people that are trying soft on crime, people that are trying to send somebody other than a police officer to take care of issues, and it's not working," Nagel said.
Looking at the responses of statewide leaders, including Gov. Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison, Nagel said the majority of Democrats "don’t want enforcement."
"The people do," he said. "They're tired of it."

“Adam Abdihakeem Adam, of Minneapolis, was charged Friday with two counts of second-degree assault and one count of second-degree riot.”
It’s them, BooBoo.
He is right. Until recently these were very quiet, family friendly neighborhoods around the Twin Cities. Kind of places you could leave the door unlocked without any problems. Not anymore. None of the democrats are around to care about it. No ideas, no asking how we can help, nothing. The opposite is what happens. Cheering on the riots, calling people “Islamophobes” and such for mentioning the fact this is happening, ICE hating, etc.
Ilhan Omar is out there ORGANIZING the roving gangs, they are the enforcers in her district. Her congressional district is now a province of Somalia.
No divided loyalties for her, nosiree, Bob.
It is past time that Ilhan Omar was sent packing (along with some others) back to their homeland. They should have never been here in the first place in an way, shape, or form. They don’t seem to be doing what they were elected for at all.
Our government, from both sides of the aisle started this. It has to stop.
Inhan is probably leading this.
Emperor Palpetine had it right: “Wipe them out. All of them.”
I thought they had lost their Temporary Protected Status, and were eligible to be deported. Why are they still here?
If they are active in criminal gangs, then I should think their protected status would be void, and they would then be legitimate ICE targets.
and....he’s already out on bail!
What a grateful sight it would be to see Ilhan Omar behind bars or deported. Maybe after the election, the Trump DOJ will do something to hold her accountable. Doubtful, but I wouldn't rule it out, either.
“Where is Ilhan Omar in all of this?”
Right there with them.
Go vote Democrat! That’ll show Trump!!!
AI Overview
Lutheran Social Service (LSS)—particularly in Minnesota—has played a major role in resettling and supporting Somali refugees since the initial large waves began arriving in the mid-1990s following the civil war in Somalia.
Role and Resettlement Support
• Initial Resettlement: Alongside groups like Catholic Charities, Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota helped incoming Somali families secure housing, entry-level employment (such as shifts in food processing and hospitality), and basic community orientation.
• Funding and Process: LSS operates under federal guidelines (such as the U.S. Refugee Admission Program). Agencies receive standard, one-time federal grants per resettled individual rather than special or extra funding designated specifically for any single nationality.
• Services Provided: LSS Refugee Services offers ongoing support, including employment assistance, language services, referrals, and immigration legal aid (such as adjustment of status and naturalization filings) with staff or interpretation supporting Somali speakers.
Community Context and Outreach
• Demographics: Over the decades, Minnesota grew to house one of the largest Somali diaspora communities in the United States, numbering over 100,000 residents.
.......I’m a former Lutheran—Orthodox since 2008. And I knew some of the people who ran Lutheran Social Services!
