Brazil’s Supreme Court tyrant Alexandre de Moraes, the justice critics have long called Alexandre de Voldemort, has ordered the arrest of Eduardo Bolsonaro, the son of imprisoned former President Jair Bolsonaro and the brother of Flávio Bolsonaro, the frontrunner to send socialist Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva packing on October 25.
Eduardo's brother, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, has emerged as the frontrunner to become Brazil's next president after defeating incumbent socialist President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the first round of voting. Moraes did not wait for the runoff.
Moraes ordered Eduardo to begin serving a four-year, two-month sentence immediately, directed federal police to arrest him if he sets foot in Brazil, canceled his Brazilian passports, and suspended his political rights for the length of the sentence, according to Reuters.
The conviction became final on October 3 after appeals were rejected. Eduardo has lived in the United States, including Texas, since 2025.
His “crime,” according to the court’s First Panel, was speaking to the Trump administration about the weaponization of Brazil’s justice system against his father.
In June the panel, Moraes, Lula ally Cristiano Zanin, Cármen Lúcia, and Flávio Dino, convicted Eduardo unanimously of “coercion in the course of proceedings.” Prosecutors said he lobbied Washington for tariffs on Brazilian goods, Magnitsky sanctions, and visa revocations aimed at STF ministers, in an effort to pressure the court during Jair Bolsonaro’s trial.
The sentence starts in a semi-open regime, carries a fine, strips him of a Federal Police clerk post, and bars him from office for eight years after the term.
Moraes, who also ran the case against the father, wrote that Eduardo “cannot benefit from his own wrongdoing by fleeing the national territory” to thwart the sentence.
The same justice was sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury under the Magnitsky Act in July 2025 for arbitrary detentions and the suppression of speech. The Gateway Pundit reported when Treasury then hit Moraes’ wife and his Lex Institute, and when aides lost their U.S. visas.
Eduardo called the new order what it is. In a statement Thursday he said that even after voters delivered a clear “enough,” Moraes was again throwing the country into turmoil with a decision that is “arbitrary, ill-timed and ineffectual,” because the United States “has already made clear it does not comply with delirious decisions of this nature.”

That should fire up the masses and get them out to vote for Bolsonaro. This judge is a clown! The Boasberg of Brazil!
It is to be predicted. That’s what socialist/commies do to gain or stay in power. Look at how these violent thugs are behaving in the USA.
So he’s a Democrat…….
Kinda hard to arrest him if he’s somewhere else.
If the good guy wins something’s gonna have to be done with this judge. It’s another example what they’re willing to do to get and stay in power. A charlatan to lead them and the useful idiots will follow.
I hope Flavio jails this asshat.
Its getting so bad in Brazil that you’d think they were the United States.
It would not be unprecedented for the Brazilians Army to step in.............
Commies never give up power willingly. They are all for free and fair elections until they win. It’s like when we recount the votes multiple times until the Democrat wins then, “It’s the people have spoken it’s time to move on and get back to governing.” I would image that if this guy wins it will take guns to get the commies out of the presidential palace.
A pox on them all - they should not be permitted to have any sway within a civilized society.
Sometimes, when I’m in a more pessimistic-than-usual mood, I find myself bitterly chucking at the idea that it seems more and more like the concept of: “Free and Fair Elections” has joined the list of things like Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy under the heading: “Things that most people were once naïve enough to believe actually existed”.
When did they hire Jack Smith??
Has a US District Judge weighed in and declared the Brazilian election void yet?
They are omnipotent, apparently.
Pinochet had a point.
The totalitarian playbook. We saw it with General Motors and Chrysler (truth is political opponents of Obama who opposed his 54.5 MPG CAFE). We saw it with Exxon Mobil shareholders (SOGI mandate).
I hope you’re right. It’s hard to predict what will happen in a Latin country. Law, military, submission to riots, etc.
Nicaragua outlawed opposition parties, but others elected pro-democracy leaders.
