This was common when I went to school, and it still should be allowed it’s the only way teachers can control I classroom. Parents of the offending child should be charge for not teaching proper behavior.

If the kid was “dragged,” that means that he was resisting being removed from the class. Total BS. They should fire the detective that filed this stupid charge.

No wonder school children are running wild. Hope the teacher wasn’t hurt.

In my Catholic elementary school in the 50s and 60s, the usual family response to getting manhandled by one of the nuns was that you were in trouble for deserving it and might well be required by your parents to write a note of apology. There were not many repeat offenders and my Catholic high school was notorious for being full of polite and well-behaved kids.

Where was Fada Concepcion born? Family records indicate her mother, Nelly Neme Concepcion, was born in Peru (her mother’s family originated from Cañete, Peru). Her father, Martin Felix Concepcion’s family legacy spans the United States, Peru, and Jordan. —— Orlando Sentinel

Public records do not contain verified information regarding the specific birthplace of Fada Concepcion, a seventh-grade science teacher at Tuskawilla Middle School in Oviedo, Florida.

She became a subject of public record following her October 2026 arrest in Seminole County, Florida, on a charge of child abuse without great bodily harm.

Because she is a private citizen rather than a public figure, her personal biographical details—such as her exact date and place of birth—are not publicly available in news coverage from outlets like FOX 35 Orlando or CBS12.

From the reading -

Long-time teacher, knows how to handle a class, got tired of the little prick disturbing the class.

Kid is a primo jerk and should have been tossed out a fourth-floor
window.

So many of my teachers would be in jail if they were teachers today. My Spanish teacher hit me over the head with her Spanish book because I was talking to the kid next to me. One teacher grabbed one guy buy his shirt and threw him against the wall and turn got in his face yelling. I forgot what he did. There were many other incidents. We all survived.

The most intelligent man I ever knew went to high school at St. Leo's (Christian Brothers school) in Chicago. He described being hit with a stick (kind of like the children's book "The Story of Ping") even when he didn't deserve it, but believed that it was good for humility. He loved it, and went on to get his Ivy PhD, learned a dozen languages and taught at the FSSP seminary after he was ordained a diocesan priest.

Years later, my wife and I had to take a freelance private driver from O'Hare back to Rockford, IL (no Uber, then) at 11:00 PM. We had not yet said our rosary, so we started then. After we finished, the driver, a retired man about the same age as my friend, started complaining about St. Leo's, describing the same kinds of stories, but hated it. Small world.

We had an old lady English teacher who would stand in the halls during class change and grab students who were chewing gum by the ear and steer them over to a trash basket.

IT would appear you were affected by this as you remember it in great detail.

I remember in Junior High, my science teacher, Mr. 'I', caught Bobby 'C' shooting spit wads in class. Bobby was my friend but he was a hood. Juvenile delinquent who did a stint in reform school.

Anyway, Mr. 'I' hated Bobby and picked him up by the back of his neck, hurled him toward the door and literally kicked him into the hallway.

Mr. 'I' took him to the principal's office and whipped him so hard that Bobby didn't wait for him to finish. He cursed him and ran out the door. That's the America I grew up in. I miss it.

Genuinely bad experiences in Catholic education usually involve clerical misconduct in some respect. I hope that era is behind us.

What happens when a teacher CANNOT do this?

A relative is teaching in a school in Arizona. She had a student go ballistic. She asked for help to get him out of the classroom. The school refused and told her SHE would not make any attempt to remove the student - to just lead the other students out.

But the time the student finished his tantrum, all the computers were smashed. The windows broken. Every chair and desk overturned. Books ripped apart. 30K plus in damages.

But grab the student and force HIM out of the class (6th grade)? Nope. Not unless she wanted to lose her job and have the school prosecute HER!

She will quit when her contract ends this spring.

In the 80s, in a conservative town in Utah, a friend (teacher) was walking thru the hallway when a student called him an obscenity and spat in his face! My friend, without thinking, decked the kid (16). When the kid woke up, he apologized.

The school didn’t punish my friend, but he admitted he knew then he wasn’t cut out for being a teacher. He quit on his own at the end of the year.
