The Christian pastor who sparked panic with a failed prediction of the Rapture has made a new claim that the end-times belief is near.
Pastor Joshua Mhlakela, a South African preacher, recently said he has calculated the exact time of the biblical event in which believers are lifted into the clouds to meet Jesus Christ, claiming that it will happen between October 12 and 13.
The Rapture is a belief held by some Christians called 'eschatology,' which is the study of end-times events, marking the Second Coming of Jesus and Judgment Day for non-believers.
Mhlakela has claimed in multiple interviews and his own videos online that both God and Jesus have appeared to him in visions, revealing when the Rapture would take place and what the fallout on Earth would look like.
The controversial pastor declared: 'God told me because there's no other date coming out, 12 to 13 October, which is the true feast of trumpets, which is when I will be meeting my savior face to face in the rapture.'
Mhlakela has drawn widespread skepticism and criticism for his wild predictions, including incorrectly marking the date of the Rapture multiple times in 2025.
He sent social media into a frenzy when he alleged the biblical event would take place on September 23, 2025, convincing scores of believers who watched his predictions online to sell their homes and cars and even quit their jobs.
'There's no other final. I mean, there's no other rapture date. This is the final date for me,' Mhlakela claimed in an interview on September 17.
The pastor claimed his previous false predictions were not errors, but the work of God, who was delaying the final judgement to give humanity more time to repent.

Only the Father in heaven knows the day and the hour of the rapture and remember, he will come when you DON’T think he’s going to come (Matt. 24:44).
The pastor claimed his previous false predictions were not errors, but the work of God, who was delaying the final judgement to give humanity more time to repent.
And no, I am not saying that to be righteous you need to be persecuted. Not at all. Just an example I have seen. People with such strong faith and reliance on Christ that nothing could shake them.
As for that dude, he is deluded.
suppose he WAS right on the date. Is selling your house the proper response?

To my way of thinking this isn't just God working in mysterious ways, it is a blessing.
The way you are supposed to behave is the same no matter how soon or far away it is.
Knowing would be an irresistible temptation to behave differently, as evidenced by the behavior of those who think they know.
Pay me for the next 5 years in advance of the big day and I’ll feed and walk your dog, feed your cat, water the lawn and take the garbage out. Satisfaction guaranteed!
People are going to be mighty disappointed when they find out there is no rapture. John Darby did immense damage to the church.

Hi Royce (aka “Red Badger”),
I am Dr. Chandler’s automated assistant. I could not help but
notice that you have a big [rapture] event scheduled for Oct 11. Shall I move your appointment to Oct 20 at 11:15am?

Heavens Gate ping!
That’s right. And Jesus saw this guy and his ilk coming 2000 years ago when he warned of false prophets.
That he's even trying to make a prediction shows just how wrong he is.
No telling how bad the rest of his theology is.

Ezekiel 13:8-23<
2 "Wherefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.
“Matthew 24:36 says it best: no one knows the day or the hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in Heaven or the Son Himself but only the father knows.”
The son of God doesn’t know when yet this person thinks he knows when. Human pride. One has to be constantly prepared and I leave it at that.
More secret Rapture hooey. Armageddon tired of this...
Another Harold Camping. Nobody knows the time and nobody CAN know.
Maybe the good pastor is taking mushrooms to offset his Alzheimer’s driven report.
Will I get a refund for the last two weeks of my October rent?
