WASHINGTON — It’s the richest table ever assembled.
An extraordinary cadre of the country’s most powerful tech titans with a collective fortune of over $1.8 trillion converged upon the White House Tuesday for President Trump’s summit on artificial intelligence.
Despite many of them competing against each other — in some cases very bitterly — the multi-billionaire president managed to bring them together at the White House to discuss how America and outflank China — and the guardrails needed for the nascent tech.
The summit illustrated Trump’s eagerness to have the federal government collaborate with and elevate the private sector, despite pressure he’s faced to regulate the industry more aggressively.
“I just have to do what’s right,” he told reporters when asked about the dicy politics of AI.
“All I can tell you is that these big, powerful, very rich, very smart companies are going to be making massive contributions to communities,” he added. “It’s going to be so good for the people.”
Trump himself shared the table seating — with SpaceX, xAI and Tesla near-trillionaire Elon Musk to his right, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to his right and Vice President JD Vance and House Speaker Mike Johnson across the table from him.
Anthropic founder Dario Amodei was near the right end of the table while OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman sat roughly across from him.
Amid the tough polling on AI, Trump has worked to rebrand it as “super intelligence” to highlight its potential to radically improve people’s lives.
The gathering took place just after Trump’s glitzy summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping last week. Trump has repeatedly underscored his desire to ensure the US wins the AI race against China, regardless of the political costs.

Those four poor schmoes worth less than $2 billion...they’re probably looking around and muttering “what am I doing wrong!?”
Trump should have invited broke people who don’t know anything about technology.
Bezos is my fave gajillionairre AMZ provides and extrardinary service to ordinary people; I might order what I will have for breakfast the next morning and have it outside my door by the time I wake up.
12 years ago, when I was still rather good looking, a particularly good looking AMZ driver liked to knock on my door and hand it to me. He’d even ask what I I was making for breakfast. (Panda Puffs)
So Bezos deserves the mega $$$$$$, the mega yacht and the mega girlfriend to go with it.
what have they done wrong?
They were n0’t born in India. Look at the preponderance of Hindu names
“when I was still rather good looking”
You made me guffaw with that one! Thanks for the laugh. Age does sneak up on you, doesn’t it? For guys, around 40-45 is when the girls quit looking. Now that I’m WAY past that, I’m happy to have a nice chat with the comely lasses at the checkout counters.
I know what you mean about Amazon. Best service ever. Huge selection, easy to buy, easy to pay, fast delivery, easy returns. Sometimes I’ll go to two, three or even four stores and cannot find what I want. Finally I say “Heck with it” and go home and buy on Amazon. The new Distribution Center GEG2 over on the east side of Spokane on 290 between Liberty Lake and Spokane Valley really sped up deliveries over here in Idaho. He indeed deserves that wealth.
But the Indians at Google, MS, and Micron are all <$2B. Surprising!
That distribution center is nothing short of a miracle. Whoever’s iin charge of keeping it stocked is a genius.
