Yup, they agree to it and then the HOA gets taken over by zealots and the people let them because they don’t vote at the meetings or even go to the meetings.

Quarterly HOA fees of $170 are inconsequential. I’d like to see all the other expenses this guy was paying while he let this thing sit without being addressed for 2+ years.

Yes and screw the banks if a mortgage is still owed. Let the banks sue the HOA. What will ultimately stop a HOA...when everybody in the HOA as a group refuses to pay the HOA fees and the HOA leaders are hounded out of the neighborhood!
