A Russian strike has hit a train near the Ukraine-Poland border shortly after former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and other top European officials had passed through.
No casualties were reported after the Russian strike, which hit the train's engine.
Johnson and some of Europe's most senior security advisers, including the UK's Jonathan Powell, had passed along the same line on their way back from a conference in the capital, Kyiv.
Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk said a Russian drone had struck 800m from Polish border.
Russia has in recent months carried out a number of deadly attacks targeting Ukraine's trains, railway depots and other transport facilities.

Clinton bombed the Chinese embassy. utin doesn’t have the balls.
Aw shucks.
Hope it didn’t mess up Boris’s hair.
The BBC mentions Tusk again. Let's remember Tusk from some time back:
“500 million Europeans are asking 300 million Americans to defend them against 140 million Russians. [...] Europe today lacks the belief that we are truly a global force.”Sure seems like it's still about, "President Trump, do something!"Polish PM Donald Tusk, speaking before his flight to London for the European Ukraine summit: X, 2 March 2025
An hour late.
Jebać Tuska!

You’re right. Putin does not have the balls
People think that this is unrestricted warfare and Russia just can’t dish out more.
They are being fed bull$hit, or really want to believe this to the point of diluting themselves into thinking that nonsense it true.
This is a highly limited conflict.
This is “messaging.”
There is lots of room for escalation on both sides: shipping, go ahead, keep seizing Russian ships and see what happens. Keep supplying Ukraine the means to strike deep into Russia, see what happens...
The Euro’s wanted to keep this war going... I just hope they don’t light a fire they can’t put out and inevitably ask us help with, AFTER they refused to settle this matter a year ago.
The Euro’s with their uber intellect, have a propensity for starting wild fires that burn the whole damn forest down..
Struck with what? A drone attack? some other kind of aerial attack? A planted explosive?
Russia has increased confidence in their targeting if they are willing to hit trains and trucks close to the border.
On the other hand, Ukrainian intelligence is doing a great job if they knew the train would be hit with timing precise enough to re-schedule the targeted train and get the passengers off the decoy train before the strike. If we read about a later strike on a train with passengers on it, we will know that the Ukrainians calculated that the benefit in propaganda value will have exceeded the cost in lives.
U R very smart.
**“500 million Europeans are asking 300 million Americans to defend them against 140 million Russians. [...] Europe today lacks the belief that we are truly a global force.”**
I’ve got the perfect solution. Give a month off to all our GI’s stationed there. Do it in the month of August. Bring them home on all our military planes and the fighter planes park themselves in Israel or any other nonEuropean nation.
I’d do the same thing here with our nation’s cops. A national holiday just for all of them. It would be a teachable moment for the all the educated lefties.
How is it "limited" on the Russian side? Exactly what would Russia do to "dish out more" in Ukraine?
Three possibilities on this one:
1. They didn’t ask Russia for permission to travel in Ukraine, as they normally do.
2. They deviated from what they told Russia what they were going to do in Ukraine.
3. The Neocons are using Russian foreign travel permission to smuggle arms into Ukraine by traveling their routes.
is this recent?
how long since BoJo wa in the UK gov...?
Yes, this was definitely a message.
Russia is spending 7.8% GDP on war: https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/MS.MIL.XPND.GD.ZS?locations=RU
Ukraine on the other hand, is at over 34.5% GDP on war: https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/MS.MIL.XPND.GD.ZS?locations=UA There is no more to give.
Russia has not even mobilized vast amounts of military aged males, in fact their forces in Ukraine are mostly contract soldiers. Russia could easily mobilize more and there were rumors of a large scale mobilization after the Russian elections of 300,000 - 500,000 men, which they could do, but Putin said will not happen (who knows - maybe this is election political talk):

The Russians can step up what the Euro’s call hybrid attacks into Europe. The Germans have NOT supplied Ukraine with systems like Taurus for a reason (probably a wise decision). The Germans are supplying components for long range drones etc. and as a response there is a series of unexplainable fires at war industrial plants, all of a sudden, all across the country: https://news.usni.org/2026/08/19/report-to-congress-on-russian-hybrid-warfare-in-europe IMHO, this was another attempt to send a message: https://www.cnn.com/2026/08/06/europe/germany-explosives-packed-drone-airport-intl The drone wasn’t used, nor shot down or defective... Explosives on the drone, functional drone, next to Ukrainian aircraft being loaded with goodies for the war.
The Russians can seize French or UK merchant vessels just like the French and UK can seize the Russian ones: https://news.usni.org/2026/06/26/french-seizes-5th-russian-shadow-fleet-tanker In fact, the Russians do not even need to go through the trouble of seizing anything as this would open a whole other can of worms depending where it is. Just call the merchant vessel and warn them that in 10 minutes they will get sunk. You do realize the Russia have a navy with quite a bit of reach?: https://russianships.info/eng/today/
Based on past conversations, you likely believe in eminent Ukrainian victory, and how Russia started this war (the BS “unprovoked” narrative), and how we’re not the ones escalating things.
We started this war with this decision: https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/ukrainian-president-zelenskiy-holding-talks-with-biden-adviser-says-2021-12-09/ That was a logical “red line” that we crossed, and knew we had crossed, and would not accept, and historically (Cuban missile crisis, Grenada 83) have not accepted, if in Russia’s position today.
Despite folks like you already planning victory parades for Ukraine, things actually weren’t going so well for them ever since the failed late 2022 - early 2023 counter offensive. Ukraine blew through their reserves and since then has not had the ability to really launch a viable counter offensive. They are just fighting a defense in a war of attrition where their adversary has ALL the numbers on their side: GDP/PPP (economic volume, manufacturing base, war specific industry, military aged males, R&D centers, per-existing war stock/inventory, size and capabilities of Intel apparatus.
NATO throwing it’s Intel and war/industrial base, logistics, training, opening the flood gates for mercenaries from Central/South America, providing Ukraine with cash, electrical power, medical supplies, fuel, helping with Information Operations made a HUGE difference. This war would not be ongoing without US/NATO/EU help. But no matter how much material and Intel we provide, you need warm bodies that have a pulse, and Ukraine is finding it more and more difficult to find these.
The West / NATO began the game of escalation in the hopes of salvaging things, delivering long range missiles (example Storm Shadow), seizing tankers, dabbling in terrorism. It doesn’t matter that it was Ukraine that started a wave of terror attacks across Russia already in mid 2022, they are our proxy and we are complacent, so we are responsible: Darya Dugina, Vladlen Tatarsky (early cases).... You do realize in some of these attacks the culprits have been caught, they were fleeing towards Ukraine and this would require a “passage of lines” in an active war zone which requires coordination... Sending more and new weapon systems like the F16 and fleets of Western MBTs etc. in 2024...
I know you’re having wet-dreams at the thought of another European war that kills 65 - 80 million people and us possibly getting sucked into this. We haven’t had a really good one for a long time and are long over due to have 418,000 Americans die in some Euro war again. But that probably should be avoided.
—
This is a war which never should have happened.
Pushing NATO expansion: High risk (probability that things turn bad), high cost (magnitude if things do turn bad), low return for us (even if we get what we want, there was no huge economic and security benefit to us). Ukraine wasn’t even an intelligent gable.
That is why calling this a “stupid war” is a good description of what we have today.
If the Euro’s want to keep this stupid war going and for heavens sake not let Trump lead this, let them pay for it, let them assume the risks associated with it. If they botch things up and things spiral out of control, we should NOT re-enter as some sort of Calvary. This is their war now, especially after Iran where they “once again” do nothing.
War is not always avoidable. But when you beat the drums for war, it should at least make sense.
Should read “complicit,” not complacent.
I noticed in your long screed there was NO answer to how "would Russia dish out more" in Ukraine.
As to GDP you compare Russia to Ukraine (with no more to give) ignoring Ukraine's support from the EU and the West. Try comparing EU's GDP to Russia's which is going to be continually bombarded by increasing number of Ukrainian drones.
True, Putin can mobilize but then his government will face a massive backlash from the public, and maybe even be toppled.
As to the taurus missile, Britain has already given Ukraine plans to build the SCALP missile.
Russian hybrid attacks will just galvanize the West to support Ukraine, just like seizing Western ships.
As to me believing in an Ukrainian eminent victory, yes, Ukraine won by having 80% of Ukraine free just like Finland won its freedom in WW2 but lost 10% of its land.
Sorry but this is where you go completely off the rails, with the "we started this war" nonsense. Wars are started with attacks and invasions of one country by another. Putin seized Crimea in 2014 and invaded in 2022 with the intention of basically seizing all of Ukraine. Nobody initially attacked Russia.
Or do you also believe as Putin that Poland started WW2 by refusing to cede an area of Poland called the Danzig Corridor to Hitler, Poland "went too far, pushing Hitler to start World War Two by attacking them"?
As to "planning victory parades for Ukraine", yes once again Ukraine having 80% of it free from Putin is a victory.
Yes, Ukraine is fighting a defensive war at this point, which is smart, trying to inflict as many casualties as possible.
LOL, you accuse "Ukraine that started a wave of terror attacks across Russia already in mid 2022" while not mentioning that it is in fact Russia, from the very beginning that has tried to terrorize Ukraine's civilian population with Geran type drones and missiles. Interesting to note that some of those missiles(Soviet-era Kh-22) fired at Ukraine's capitol are so inaccurate, that their use can only be for inflicting random terror on the civilian population.
Not even going to respond to the "wet-dreams at the thought of another European war" nonsense.
As to "This is a war which never should have happened", yes. Putin should have never invaded Ukraine, but with his view that it is an "artificial state" it was probably inevitable.
