I also believe Clancy was clever regarding her supposed suicide attempts.

As I remember the testimony, Clancy dropped herself 13 feet from a second floor window. There is a big difference between jumping and dropping oneself.

She probably figured... (or the demons within probably told her).... that she would, at the worst, end up with a few broken bones that would heal. Imagine her surprise to now be paralized for life.
