It would be more quickly convincing to go asymmetric - for each US or allies or even neutral ship the Iranians fire on, we take out the distillation tower(s) at an Iranian refinery. This could be done with cheap Ukie (or Iranian style) style drones. Next would come major storage, and any potential import terminals outside our blockade.

The Mullahs and IRGC can’t effectively run the country without refined products, and no further or future disruption of crude oil supplies would occur unless the Iranians make the mistake of making more attacks - in which case the refined products noose will close on them even faster.

I have a strong feeling that the U.S. pressure on Iran is like a duck.

It looks very calm on the surface, but there is lots of paddling going on underneath.
