True, but we shouldn’t gloat before that happens.
Proverbs 24:17–18
“Do not gloat when your enemy falls;
do not let your heart rejoice when he stumbles,
or the LORD will see and disapprove…”
Obadiah 1:12
“Do not gloat over your brother’s day of misfortune…
do not rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their destruction.”
Job 31:29
“I have not rejoiced at my enemy’s misfortune
or gloated when disaster overtook him.”
Proverbs 17:5
“Whoever gloats over disaster will not go unpunished.”
“Love your enemies… pray for those who persecute you.”
(Matthew 5:44)
“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
(Romans 12:21)
Who is gloating? I’m certainly not.
