To: I want the USA back

To be fair, there are multiple charges under consideration here and there can be a lot of disagreement in a jury room about 1st degree murder vs. 2nd degree murder vs. manslaughter counts.

Let's not.

"Fair" turns out to be an excuse for accepting what should be unacceptable.

The jury is hung. A successful defense motion to boot a juror who is holding out for a conviction brings quite a change to the pretense-of-law in this case.

We have a completely different system if the only definition of a "fair trial" is one in which the defendant is acquitted.

Past time to declare a mistrial and move on. That would be a new trial, an accepted plea bargain, or a dismissal.

None of those are good alternatives. They are better than what is happening now.
