Nobody pays that much. Practically every student gets grants (mostly from socialist organizations and/or the gummint, which is the same thing) or substantial scholarships.
It’s a money laundering scheme. Big businesses get YUGE tax deductions by making to donations to liberal universities so they can produce another crop of brainwashed socialists.
I think the figures quoted are not just tuition but include housing and other expenses like food and books.
