Denmark’s claim to Greenland rests on centuries old landing rights rather than the capacity to actually defend it against Russian or Chinese interest in the Arctic. An arrangement where Washington gets permanent security control in a strategically vital Arctic territory is massive. This is consistent with this administration’s broader pattern of using leverage, whether tariff threats or direct pressure, to extract terms that previous administrations never got close to.
This will be remembered as one of the most consequential territorial security arrangements the US has secured in decades.

POTUS just secured Greenland. Now the US MIL own that area, and our future adversaries will not be able to set up any proxy action on or around Greenland.
The Monroe Doctrine is in effect, and Trump was not kidding. The US MIL own the Western Hemisphere now. This deal for Greenland fits into my theory that we will be consolidating our military presence to the Western Hemisphere, and eventually vacating Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Trump has essentially redrawn the world map and consolidated spheres of influence. Russia and China will stay out of our yard, and we will stay out of theirs.
Trump is changing the entire global system and rules of engagement. It’s happening.
