Crude immediately jumped to $3.00/barrel and has floated up ever since. That’s how they got the money to buy out ARAMCO.
A bit of a side note but I went to a conference in Honolulu about 1970. The question was how high would oil have to go before Hawaiian Electric would consider NUKE power. The chief engineer said it would have to double. Three years later it doubled and that guy retired. No Hawaiian NUKEs yet and HECO is charging 38 cents/ KWH to run your lights.

That’s the very funny thing. If you ask a Canadian, they’ll tell you it’s great … until they need a serious procedure and find out they have to wait 6-9 months to see a specialist. Allowing to patients to die while waiting to see the specialist and then have the surgery (another 4-6 months at best) is a feature of our system, not a bug. And I hear the wait times are getting worse.
For the record, our system is good for the routine things. I can have a broken wrist or leg set immediately and see my GP every day of the week for no cost.

Fulton County admits it certified 315,000 early votes without required poll-worker signatures.
That means the votes were certified illegally.
Ballots were never legally verified as required by Georgia law.
A mandatory safeguard was skipped, then approved anyway
Americans were mocked and shamed for asking questions.
Now officials are forced to admit: those questions were valid.
It gets worse for Fulton County.
A Fulton County judge kept subpoenas alive seeking access to the 2020 ballots.
Yet the national media is silent, because covering this means admitting they helped silence legitimate concerns about election integrity.
This is not speculation, rumor, or a recycled claim.
This is a new admission, on the record, in court filings, confirmed by county attorneys.
Even Georgia officials admit Fulton County violated official election processes.
Why does this matter?
Poll-worker signatures are not cosmetic
They verify machines were properly opened, closed, and reconciled
When signatures are missing, verification is broken
Officials say it was “procedural.”
But procedures are the safeguard.
Georgia later “hand-counted” ballots.
but now admits they counted uncertified ballots
counting later does not cure an illegal certification.

Georgia decided by 11,779 votes.
The results flipped two U.S. Senate seats.
Republicans lost Senate control.

I hadn’t thought of the nuke power push prior to this…I’ve often wondered why oil was always demonized by everyone BUT those in the industry.
This makes me wonder if nuclear is all its ramped up to be. Regardless, the soddies are complicit in helping the demonization of our domestic oil industry and I’d love to see them choke on every barrel they pull from their ground.
