I taught math to my kids the way I learned it - WITHOUT calculators, and with tables for trig, logs, etc. Needless to say, they did fine against people their own age.
Young children should not be exposed to technology according to peer reviewed studies. That being said one day we had our grandson over for a visit and my son did a video call. I was in a different room from my iPhone 17 and my 4 year old grandson grabbed my phone and answered the call, despite me having password security turned on.

Sweden is our way of knowing how the lockdowns etc. did not need to happen with Covid. Maybe now Sweden will be the way of showing that children do not need technology at least in the younger grades.

What they need to do simultaneously is install “FlockLike” cameras in every classroom — 24/7. Let parents dialin and view what is being taught at any time.
Maybe the Swedes realized AI cheating in the schools is so flagrant and widespread that it poses a national security risk in need of drastic measures such as going back to pencil, paper, no internet, no electronic devices.
