Milo Yiannopoulos, a controversy-baiting internet personality who once vehemently backed President Donald Trump, has been deported to the United Kingdom, a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said on Saturday.
Yiannopoulos was arrested by ICE at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on Friday after officials said he failed to show up for an immigration hearing in July.
DHS said that a final removal order was issued by an immigration judge on July 22.
ICE agents are increasingly making immigration-related arrests at airports.
Yiannopoulos, a self-described libertarian who was an early supporter of Trump’s political career, has worked with other MAGA-aligned figures and conspiracy theorists like Ye, formerly Kanye West, since his public parting from Trump’s inner circle.
Ye, who has come under fire in recent years for a series of antisemitic statements, performed at the New Orleans Caesars Superdome on Friday evening.
It is not clear whether Yiannopoulos was in New Orleans for the concert.
Yiannopoulos served as a tech editor at Breitbart, a conservative website, until February 2017, according the site.
Yiannopoulos resigned at that time following backlash over comments he’d made suggesting he supported certain adult relationships with children. In those comments, the openly gay agitator discussed the value of “cross-generational relationships.”

Rumour is that Loomer may have reported him.
Why would anyone have to report anything? In my naivity, I imagine there is a government database where you can just run a query and get a list of everyone who has overstayed their visa at any moment in time. But I guess that would be giving the government too much credit.
If you don’t show up for your immigration hearing, then it tells me you’re not serious. I don’t care who you are.
He may have been doing this as research on what it’s like to be arrested and deported.
I hope he is happy now....
He chose poorly. He’d been here for some time and neglected to get his affairs in order and enable himself to stay.
If you break the law, you go home. Where I assume he’ll be ostracized and miserable.

The left: Good, I hope somebody makes his life miserable. (That vaunted compassion.)
Democrats: Milo shouldn’t have been deported because we find him politically useful.
Also Democrats: This is just cover for Trump’s racist deportation policy.
Conservatives: He had a valid deportation order, so he got deported. The law is the law. I hope the British government doesn’t harm him, toxic as he is.
