Conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and his online arch-nemesis was quick to take credit.
Laura Loomer boasted that she was the first to claim Yiannopoulos was in the country illegally just moments after news broke of his detention in New Orleans, Louisiana. The British-born’s immigration status has recently fallen under scrutiny by Loomer and other loyalists after Yiannopoulos began criticizing President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said Yiannopoulos entered the country legally on May 14, 2019, but that he “chose to overstay his welcome in violation of our nation’s laws.” (RELATED: Marc Thiessen Praises Laura Loomer After She Travels To Ukraine)
Yiannopoulos was detained in New Orleans on Friday, the same day his longtime friend Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is scheduled to perform there.

An immigration judge issued the order of removal on July 22 after Milo no showed at his immigration hearing.
ICE arrested him following a court order. loomer might run to take credit, but had nothing to do with it.
It does. If the US does not enforce immigration law, in particular VISA protocol, then they have no laws. I have lived in Israel on occasion and have had to leave briefly once every three months to renew my temporary VISAs, or be forced to apply through Israeli laws, which are enforced. This forced me to incur expenses to do so, which I gladly spent because I wanted to comply with their laws and not worry about being forcibly deported. So I have little sympathy for those who abuse US laws.

He has a legitimate deportation order, failed to appear in court, and was properly deported.
Given Labour’s record of weaponizing the system against critics from Tommy Robinson to Mark Steyn, I am a little concerned about his safety in the UK.

Democrats: Milo shouldn’t have been deported because we find him politically useful.
Also Democrats: This is just cover for Trump’s racist deportation policy.
Conservatives: He had a valid deportation order, so he got deported. The law is the law. I hope the British government doesn’t harm him, toxic as he is.

I blame myself for this whole debacle.
Back in 2014, Milo reached out and begged me for a job, right as we were starting up Breitbart London. I made the mistake of giving him a chance. That’s where his entire life on the right began.
His “Kernel Mag” (a tech blog in east London) had just gone tits up, but he had a flair for the acerbic and for noticing.
Also, I was desperate for columnists.
But within WEEKS, he was emailing the U.S. bosses demanding MY job, and claiming he could do it better. He was rebuffed, of course. I remember one email he got from Bannon calling him “marginalia” and saying he wishes he could edit like me. Bannon forwarded it on to me for a chuckle. He could be cruel like that. But I enjoyed the banter.
Milo went on to insert himself in every room and relationship in the company until he finally got what he wanted: his own staff and his own “Tech” vertical on the site. As a senior editor, however, I could see what this was really all about. He wasn’t writing his own columns. He had staff draft them and leave “[INSERT MILOISM]” prompts for him to come in and top and tail the articles.
I could see it all live in the site’s back end.
Then came the money, as Rebekah Mercer and others shelled out MILLIONS to tour him around the U.S. as some kind of conservative firebrand, which I knew he wasn’t.
I felt so ashamed of everything to do with him that when the story about his excuses for priestly pederasty finally got aired in 2017, I was the first to tell the company bosses: he has to go.
And so he went, and I hoped that would be the last of him. But once again he minced into the arms of the unsuspecting: first Laura Loomer, then Marjorie Taylor Greene, and finally, Kanye West.
Some time last year he began tweeting about me again, making all kinds of lurid and false accusations, just months after he had dined at my DC restaurant Butterworth’s, and lauded its beauty on his X account.
But as he was needlessly abusing me again, his own fate was being sealed. A friend at the Department for Homeland Security (DHS) reached out and let me know: “Milo has been living in the US illegally.”
I was shocked, though I suppose I ought not to have been. A source at the State Department confirmed it, when I enquired, and so began his deportation saga.
For those who haven’t followed along: it appears that not only was he publicly lying about his immigration status in the United States, but that he even missed court proceedings on the matter.
Finally, I got word last month, that he was about to be deported. On Thursday night, I got a call. As overly dramatic as it may seem.
“We got him. In Louisiana.”
And yet, of course, he’s certain to resurface in Britain shortly. Perhaps as an advisor to Rupert Lowe, or perhaps as a contestant on some third tier reality TV show.
So in advance I say to Britain: my apologies. For all of it.

I mean does it matter who pointed out that he was here illegally, not that he was deported.

MTG should be fined if she hired an illegal. Not sure it’s a criminal offense. However, it should be.

All three of those are correct assessments. But only one of those is someone whom President Trump admires and respects.
