Like all government programs which start out with the very best intentions,,,,,,this will be morphed into a huge Big Brother government surveillance/intrusion program in the future—which will be unimaginable at the present time.

It needs to go away now.

Agreed. In theory, there is no expectation of privacy on a public roadway (though case law varies from state to state with regard to the interior of a vehicle.) In practice, these systems and programs are admministered by people, each one more corruptible than than the next. Ironically, it is law enforcement officers like Sheriff Shirley I would trust most with these systems.

If legislatures put a mandatory 25 year prison sentence on any person misusing these systems and a mandatory $5M civil penalty on Flock to be paid directly to the victims of any abuse of these systems, then maybe I'd reconsider my opinion. Washington warned that government, like fire, is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. Flock cameras, in their current incarnation and distribution are gas cans and blowtorches sitting around with the hope that only responsible people will come across them and use them for their intended purposes
