LOL! Great story!
When you talked about the tire rolling down the embankment, it reminded me of a New Year’s Eve trip a few years ago up in Vermont. We rented a chalet at the base of Mount Snow, but… There was no snow as often happens up here in New England during ski season. So, there was no snow on the mountain, hence no skiers.
About 10 of us decided to go for a walk up the ski slopes which were abandoned, and we came across an old tire. We thought it would be fun to roll it down the slope where it would just go harmlessly into the woods, but as it started rolling and picking up speed it hit a bump, went up in the air, and change the direction to go directly down the slope towards the base!
We watched in horror as it went faster and faster, picking up speed, and the last thing we saw was that tire being launched into orbit and then disappearing downhill!
It was a foolish thing to do, but we didn’t think it would do that. Well, I guess that’s the mark of group stupidity… Nobody ever thinks it’s going to “Do that” when does just “that”!
