That was a directive from the McCain Campaign HQ.
I was County Chairman at the time and one of McCain’s proxies (”a war hero”) repudiated me from the podium for saying Hussien in his introduction.
I stood up. Took the mic back. Said in this county we did not hide Obama’s full name.....and if he didn’t like it there was the door. The crowd roared.
He backpedaled, gave his speech about “John” and winced when every speaker said Barack Hussein Obama, emphasizing “Hussein”
McCain was a moral coward, an elitist and held us in contempt. His treatment and disparagement of Palin was horrendous.
Uh-Oh....my McCain rant has been triggered.....lest we forget....
Treatment of first wife Carol McCain:
While John McCain was imprisoned in Vietnam (1967-1973), his wife Carol was in a near-fatal car accident on Christmas Eve 1969.
She underwent 23 operations, was left four inches shorter, disfigured, and with permanent mobility challenges. She had been a former model.
Ross Perot—who paid Carol’s medical bills—later said: “After he came home, he walked with a limp, she walked with a limp.
So he threw her over for a poster girl with big money from Arizona [Cindy Hensley] and the rest is history.”
McCain returned in 1973 to find his wife disabled. By the late 1970s, he was pursuing an extramarital affair with Cindy Hensley, an heiress 18 years his junior whose family owned a large beer distributorship. He divorced Carol in 1980 and married Cindy five weeks later.
Hensley money is how he bought his seat in the Senate.
