I think the US put off dealing with a critical problem for almost fifty years and that problem was about to metastasize into a fatal issue. Like having a baby, there’s never a good time. You can plan all you like, but it happens when it happens whether you want it to or not. Everything else, including midterms, has to be set aside while the critical issue at hand is dealt with. We’re lucky we had someone in the controller’s chair who was willing to deal with the issue rather than kick it down the road for later. We’ve already proven, there is no “later.”
I like the analogy but some of us would say war drags on and has a habit of drawing you in. Have we not learned anything of the last 50-60 years of those conflicts? Mostly undeclared, drifting goals and painful
Saddam would have NEVER let Iran have a nuke. So even if I grant the premise that Iran had one or was close to one, taking out Saddam exacerbated the problem. But the deep state and the Military Industrial Complex won’t admit their mistake and Bush and the neocons CERTAINLY won’t admit their mistake.
Agreed emphatically.
My question is given regional history and general military history-science, how will OMB (~OMG) extract/remove the demonic pit of hell moon god worshippers sitting on the straits of a major chunk of world commerce.
I don’t know how he closes this deal but I speculate the “Art” is in the timing. I have a nephew in the 101st so I’m hoping it’s not our boots doing the evictions but to leave behind a working non-demonic structure...
Well that’s why he’s OMB—>OMG and I’m not.
