Reading FR then flicking to Twitter/X is sometimes like night and day. There's a lot of dissent there among those I happen to follow (NOT Lefitsts or anything like that) regarding: Israel, Iran War, foreign policy and the Administration generally.
A lot of hot topics that get discussed here all the time and former Representatives or officials are leading the charge: MTG, Kent, Tucker Carlson and Massie the most prominent with many large accounts echoing them.
It's clear to me this is more than just a few rebels who have no influence or standing in fact MTG says in one of her latest posts: "The Movement has begun".
She is referring to 'MAGA 2.0' and a split from the Trump admin who they accuse of breaking promises of no more foreign wars and for their handling of the Epstein saga.
This has implications I think for Vance or anyone else in the administration who might want to run for president in future.
This is just an observation. I'm no troll but feel hesitant to post (or re-post) some of their stuff because it might attract complaints.
Sometimes I feel like walking on egg shells especially with foreign policy posts which I think is the main fissure in play and where some of us naturally agree with them on.
Are Twitter/X ahead of the curve or out of order?
“”Carlson/Gabbard 2028”
Gabbard’s too smart to join a Third Party whose only objective is to hand the country to the Democrats - but I wouldn’t rule her out as Vance’s VP, or quite possibly, run herself.
It sure does.
I’m not sure Carlson is the guy, I’ve been a Gabbard fan since she shout down Harris at that debate in 2020 or maybe it was 2019.
I voted for Clark in 1980 and I voted for Perot twice. The way forward is a frontal assault to tear down both wings of the Uniparty which is ruining the country and making the people who should be building our future to fight with each other instead of the domestic enemy.
Kind of hard to ping ‘em if you aren’t sure who they are. I seriously doubt Bikkuri is referring to any of the Robinsons.
One of the Mods, on the other hand…
I suspect we might have a case of “good Mod, bad Mod…”
The “bad” one may favor TDSers, zeepers and other creatures. It’s been noted by quite a few.
MTG in fact had NO STANDING since she was doubled over after eating her plate of rice and beans at the recent "Peon Equality" themed Democrat fundraiser. In a cry that shook the rafters of the venue, she wailed, "The Movement has begun," whereupon a flatulence was expelled that was so huge that the sound of it drove the attendees to dive under their tables for protection.
When asked for a comment later on, Nancy Pelosi said, "When do they serve the filet mignon?"
Trump can do, say, be and act as he wants, be as eccentric as he pleases....as long as he is WINNING....
He is not winning now.
Starting a hot war with Iran will be our and his downfall. A bad hand left him by others....but he needs to crush them now....which will take ground troops or a few tactical nukes.
They are an existential threat to Christianity and Western Man.
Price of gasoline and lack of ANY material prosecutions will keep MAGA’s home.
Trump is not the man at 80 that he was at 70.
MAGA is going the way of the TEA Party and all populist risings before....they are co-opted and corrupted by the establishment.
Unless he goes kinetic...and I pray he does...we are phooked.
My considered opinion and I do feel strongly about it.
Trust me, you don't want to start throwing nukes around. And as far as possible downfalls go, there's this:
How the 1571 Battle of Lepanto Saved Europe
At the very least, I find the hysterical impatience of some to be absolutely astounding.
He’s a free trader, amnesty hawk and cheap labor supporter.
Zotsini
Wow. I haven’t been posting much in the last few days, and all the usual TDS suspects, predictably, have flocked to this thread.
I’d need some evidence to back that up.
Oh, yeah. Rubio used to be weird and I didn’t like him at all.
Believe it or not, people can change. Both Trump and Reagan used to be democrats. I used to be a hardcore leftist (many decades ago).
Vance used to not like Trump.
Thankfully, people can change.
Which Rubio was the fake?
If you’re not up to speed, I can’t help you.
“.... I find the hysterical impatience of some... trust me..”
Try this. I used to recommend it to my junior officers and executives....trust me.

Trust.....I trust this guy....
“If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival.” Good old Winnie on another radical expansionist ideology....felt the same way about Communism, too....his thoughts on Islam? Not for polite company.
We are long past Churchill’s easy part. It’s been 50 years coming since we bailed on the Shah....75 if you count when WE started it all by toppling Mosaddegh and installing the Shah.
Lepanto came after 900 years of inconsistent, divided response to Islam....2/3rds of Christendom was and remain under Islam’s pointy boot, we lost Iberia for 700 years, they got within 120 miles of Paris, had looted Constantinople and Rome, and was in the process of laying siege to Vienna once, with #2 still to come as another damn close run thing.
The Crusades, disorganized and half-hearted....then we quit.
Let’s wait for that?
50 years of kicking the Shia Iranian dog.....its going to bite as soon as the teeth come in....who says so?
Me? No. Them.
Ahmadinejad’s Statements (2005-2012):
“Our revolution’s main mission is to pave the way for the reappearance of the 12th Imam, the Mahdi” (quoted in USAWC Strategy Research Project, Center for Security Policy)
2005 UN speech: “Openly invoked Mahdi-endorsed nuclear pursuits, with fatwas permitting weapons of mass destruction in this context” (i12go4God, citing original reporting)
2012 UN speech: Spoke at length about end times being “very near” and the Mahdi’s imminent return (ronconte.com)
I don’t like it. But there it is.
One....one.....of my focuses as an undergrad was Middle Eastern history. 6 courses if I remember right 50 years ago.
I also have a few dozen books on it....always a favorite in B&N and Amazon.

And Lepanto was a miraculous victory that required prayer and discernment - each must be allowed to take whatever time and patience is necessary, whether the battle was back when or in the 21st century.
So there it is, maybe not as eloquent as Winston or Dale, but you get the picture. :-)
