All the bizzarre groups compete for the same pool of young people with a vague sense that something is wrong or missing with them; they have been preyed on by cults of a religious extreme bent for ages, and have been the victims of all the waves of epidemic disorders like anorexia, bulemia, cutting , etc. They all promise to provide an “explanation” for their dysphoria.
