I live in a WildFire risk zone.
No shortage of things to do.
Clear Space [50 M?]about the abode.
Chop all vegetation about the Hacienda for 100 yards [minimum].
Close up every house opening for the fire season.
If possible, do a VERY proscribed burn around the Compound.
Lay in no shortage of “sprinklers”.
Probably WAY more to get to survivable.
Plenty of lush, green, wet, verdant forested land in Wisconsin.
We haven’t burnt up since ‘The Peshtigo Fire,’ which happened on the very same day as ‘The Great Chicago Fire.’
All FReepers Welcome! Bring your checkbook. ;)
“sprinklers”
They have a pond.
Nowadays, with remote control watering systems, people can be their own fire department.
One of my former neighbors made a living installing underground water tanks for irrigation.
It’s been raining heavily in Florida the past week or so after a prolonged drought.
