An Arizona man burst into flames when a cop tasered him next to a gas pump that caught fire, horrifying footage shows.
Clarence Coyl suffered burns across his hands after igniting when the federal wildlife officer deployed the stun gun at Thalypo gas station on July 16.
The lawman had followed him to the store after catching him allegedly driving with a friend through an open gate at Havasu National Wildlife Refuge 20 minutes earlier.
Coyl told Fox 10 Phoenix: “He goes, ‘You guys came through the gate, didn’t you? Leave now. Get out of here.’
“I’m like, ‘OK’ and he got really snotty, and he says, ‘Well, I’ll give you a ticket,’ and I say, ‘Give me a ticket, you gotta trespass me first.”
He then drove to a nearby Thalypo gas station where the U.S. Fish and Wildlife officer confronted him.
The flames begin with the officer — sporting a shaved head and black sunglasses — pointing his taser at the man.
“You’re gonna go to jail, all I’m asking for is your license right now to identify you …” the officer shouts.
“What am I being arrested for?” Coyl said.
“You are not cooperating for having committed a crime …” the officer says back.
“What? A misdemeanor? A misdemeanor a–hole. It’s a $10 …” he says, before the crack of the officer’s stun gun deploying cuts him off.

“You can beat the rap, but you can’t beat the ride” - one of my least favorite cop truisms.
It would be too big and heavy!
.
Nobody forces a decent person to become a public servant. The “profession” seems to attract bullies, psychos, and idiots.
This ahole isn’t a cop. They have been overstepping for years and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court recently ruled they need search warrants to step on your land. I remember them handing out speeding tickets shortly after 9/11.
For a misdemeanor? I taser was not warranted--especially near gas pumps.
Why is the officer’s shaved head an important detail?
Same reason a black rifle "looks scary." It gets the reader on the right side of the propaganda.
I don't have a dog in this hunt, but I can see language meant to steer the reader one way or the other.
” if you feel it isn’t right, go to the judge.”
And have some slimy shyster rob you blind to get any justice.
Because, I think, the article was written by AI based on its review of the video.
“The “profession” seems to attract bullies, psychos, and idiots.”
We have an on and off ping list about those personality types and how prevalent they are in polices work.
I always went to court, pleaded my case, and never had to pay any fines. One time judge sent to me to traffic school, expunged my driving record for the ticket, but no cost to me. Once the cop never showed up so case was dismissed automatically.
Why would the officer think that sparks near gas fumes was a good idea?
You’re the first one that makes sense on is post today.
You will NEVER win an argument with a cop on the side of the road, but you can escalate the ticket to a ride to the jailhouse.
That’s the advice I give young males I know (black & white).
Because that’s what you have to be to aspire to “public service” in a country that now questions and criticizes every move you make and often throws your ass in jail just for doing your job.
You think arguing and screaming at a cop is going to go better. You don’t need a shyster for a ticket.
So, what’s the alternative? The guy refuses so the cop says, “Okay, i can’t win this. See you some other time.”
It doesn’t work that way.
It sounds like this escalated over several minutes of verbal resistance. There is an acceptable use of force protocol that all departments should follow. Being argumentative and failing to follow orders for an extended period of time ramps up the amount of force justified tremendously. Taser is still a relatively low level of force, well below deadly (death or serious bodily injury.)
He was seen driving through an open gate. When told to leave, he turned around and left.
WTH did they follow him?
