I like your zebra/lion analogy.
For the zebras to win they need excellent organization and tactics.
Anything less and they will be eaten.
Running is the best short term strategy—but the long term problem remains.
What I have zero tolerance for is zebras who try to sing the virtues of the lions.
I see way too much of that around here—along with denials that the lions exist at all.

My analogy applies in too many instances. Look at the NATO countries that don’t pay their share, like Germany-Spain especially. There’s the gulf states that are scared of Iran. It should be their ground troops invading and we clean up afterwards.
Lambs have sheepdogs to keep them in line and the wolves away. The dogs are not popular with the lambs but is the shepherd going to protect them on his own? The US is playing both the sheepherder and sheepdog. Getting old.
