Spain won the World Cup.. Amazing performance. Argentinas Goalie set World Cup record for most saves. Final Score 1-0, in 30 min overtime.

This FIFA chief has some private jet always ready to go.
I have seen him watching almost all games!
It is great to be FIFA chief!
I don’t jest.
IMO, Sunday sports, in person or on TV, is a big reason for the decline in church attendance. And when church attendance declines the result is what we have in America today.
I shopped after church today, and there were far more people wearing team athletic clothes than Sunday go to meeting clothes. And that’s in TN Bible belt. It must be more prevalent in more liberal areas.
Argentina played like thugs throughout, which is why 99% of non-Argentineans were for Spain.
Why have the referees received medals?
Just by participating?
I do not recall giving medals to referees before?
And, frankly, the referee was not really that good.
He made many questionable calls in my view!
At least he was objective, his errors hurt both sides more-less equally.
In my opinion, every sport has both exciting and boring moments. I like to watch baseball...Sometimes I fall asleep watching baseball when there is no scoring going on for a while...I do watch football on TV...I sometimes fall asleep watching football when there is no scoring going on for a while...
Unlike 90% of FR members, I do like to watch soccer...However, I will admit that I have fallen asleep when some soccer games got too boring...
I agree that some people do not like the Argentina team because of that reason...Some Argentina players do like to commit fouls to provoke the other team...
Argentina does not have a black player...No, I do not believe that people dislike the Argentina team because of that reason...
Impressive team. Congratulations.
Also the Argies lost the Rugby Match against England.
England 31 - Argentina 24
The match was played in Argentina. They made a big deal about the Falkland Islands again but still lost.
Cue up the: “womp-womp-womp-woooooomp” :P
Punches thrown as wild brawl breaks out after final World Cup whistle
“Argentina-2 shots, 0 on target”
Nuff said.
“Enzo Fernandez’s red card was the result of stepping on the Spain player’s foot and causing him to fall. This is the same cause of Balogun’s red card during the USA against Belguim game.”
What nonsense. Each case must be evaluated on the details of the case.
Fernandez acted with deliberate bad intent, Balogun wasn’t looking/aware of where his foot was landing as he fell to the ground.
Details matter.
I hear the same nonsense about self-defense. Karmelo Anthony and Kyle Rittenhouse are not the same just because they both claimed self-defense. Details of each case matter.
They were playing for PKs since the beginning of the game. They knew they were not going to score on Spain. Spain only gave up one goal the entire tournament.
I spoke to a few people this morning about the game. I admit I know very little about soccer, and have never followed it. It’s really a ‘generational’ and ‘regional’ thing, as soccer wasn’t really a sport nearby when I graduated high school. That being said, when I watched the game I thought it had gotten to the point that they might as well just put on pads like American football. There was more physical contact than I expected, and the Referees didn’t seem to want to interfere.
I am not shocked by the fight after the match, they were basically ‘fighting’ during the match.
Sure glad this kickball hysteria is over. What a dumbass kids game. Lots of lyin’ and cryin’.

I am not sure that what you state is because it’s a ‘kids’ game, or we are just witnessing a new generation. Spain had two teenagers playing.
I think the last time I played “kickball” was in the third grade. The teachers used it to run off our extra energy.
It also goes with the new government we are also witnessing in our America. It’s a sign we’re in big trouble.
Cape Verde, smallest nation to ever make the World Cup, fought them to a draw in league play and then took Argentina to OT before losing 3-2 in the Round of 32.
