I wanted Argentina to win, but they were totally outclassed by Spain.

What a lame sport.
We played short-handed vs. Bosnia-Herzegovina, and still scored on them.
I'm not too familiar with soccer so I check with AI:
Did Argentina even come close to scoring shorthanded?
They didn’t even come close when they were full-strength. They didn’t even register a shot on goal the entire game.
If you can watch a baseball pitchers duel ending in a 1-0 shutout you can learn to watch a soccer games that ends in a 1-0 shutout. Soccer is a game, watching the best in the world play it isnt boring unless you simply don’t want to like it.
Did they deserve the red card?
If they did, then no sympathy for them.
If they didn’t then we need better refs.
Give me a good pitchers duel over a home-run fest any day of the week.
It was two yellow cards, not a red.
His first yellow was for flopping.
“watching the best in the world play it isnt boring unless you simply don’t want to like it.”
I want to like it but it is boring.
Messi was a non factor today. Shame.
Messi was a non factor today.
Spain made everyone they played a non-factor. They shut down Mbappé and Dembele just as much.
Yes, I think it is.
a red card for your second yellow is standard.
I am not reading that either yellow card was unfair.
the red card appears to be legit.
Spain - 20 shots to goal, 12 of them on target.
Argentina - 2 shots, 0 on target.
Would you reconsider your statement, that Spain only defended up to the last minutes?. Or maybe you don’t really understand soccer?.
Argentina had that one chance, but he skied it.
Which gets to my main point. These are supposedly the best players in the world, and they can’t put that shot on goal?
That’s like shooting an air ball in basketball.
That was my fear if it went to PKs.
The Spain goalie would have been cold from lack of work, while the Argentina goalie had a lot more work, and probably would have saved a few of the Spain PKs.
They are the better team. A machine that worked incredibly well together.
