Congress should be required to take an economics refresher course every year.

Yes but to get into most Ph.D programs in economics you need the following math courses: Calculus at least three semesters, matrix or linear algebra, one year of mathematical statistics, a course on proofs, and at least one course in real analysis. And that is only the minimum requirements.

Even fifty years ago people did not understand the difference between profit and markup. Markup being the costs say a retailer pays to cover all of his or her selling expenses after paying his suppliers. Profit is what is left after all those expenses.

End senseless regulations and taxes. Let people get in the game with rules they can understand. Make fraud and grift/graft crushingly punitive. Right now it’s the other way around.

Someone posted months ago how easy it was for (cr)immigrants to get benefits and make low-paying jobs lucrative. And all the hoops and hurdles business owners had to jump through just to hang a shingle and keep it there.

Yes.

When you know nothing of how anything works you think you can change things to fit your ideal.

Of course Cato is just as bad in it's own way. It has this ideal of how no tariff trade and open borders should work in their mind and the reality that things just do not work that way, that human society does not work that way, just does not seem to sink in.

In both cases the proponents have enough money to insulate themselves from reality.

And they always have.

Thank the public school system for pro-socialism. Most students have been brainwashed by the time they finish high school

Ignorance, disillusionment, and envy fuel socialism - which doesn’t fix any of them.

Economics is the social science that studies how individuals, businesses, governments, and societies allocate scarce resources to satisfy unlimited wants and needs. In basic language, it’s called supply and demand and how to get to that. So this whole article is fine but has for many years been recognized as to how and why it is being accomplished. It was done with the dumbing down of public education. Critics, historians, and education advocates generally point to several key eras and milestones that fundamentally altered the focus of American education over the last century basically starting in the 1930’s with the dump of the market and the easy ticket.

And with this alteration came the acceptance of society and life over wanting to level up your work, habits, or personal life. And the key is shifting from a mindset of iterative improvement to passive waiting for things to simply become easier or for perfect inspiration to strike in the end by someone else that probably wouldn’t know it if it bit them on the azz because that’s what they were told to do.

During our history, man went from something that knew nothing to something on the way to that status over the thousands of years we have been around. So we are going full circle on our way to obscurity. And the ones that are conducting the manipulation are not required to care who you are. (Just that you do what you are told) Pretty soon they won’t even tell you. They’ll just consider you in the way.

That was the entire purpose of the “dept of education”, to ensure kids were not taught and brainwashed into communism.
