Electrical engineers can mainly work in Silicon Valley, DC, Boston, Austin and other high-priced places.
Many nurses at my hospital live where it is cheaper (out of state or cheaper in state). They group their shifts together. Stay in RVs or a room for the time they are here, then go back home. Pay is not as good as here.

I used to prepare budget for a hospital in FL. The first time I did it, I was shocked at the salaries for nurses. Factoring in Shift Differential, they brought in amazing paychecks.
Some of them lived in other states. They’d drive RVs to the hospital on Friday, park in the hospital parking lot, work all weekend, and go home on Monday. That weekend pay, plus their willingness to work more than eight hours a day, made it worth it.
